In yet another feather in the cap of democracy:

Suspended state Sen. Leland Yee dropped out of the race for Secretary of State, but it seems over 280,000 voters didn’t get the memo.

The beleaguered 65-year-old politician formally withdrew from the race back in March after he was formally charged with a number of crimes including bribery and conspiracy to deal and import arms. He faces more than 20 years in prison if convicted.

Score one for the vigilant participant in our great republic.

If only he had one he could go down in history with the greats like Marion Barry.

I can't speak to the specific race...but will say that there are numerous accused & convicted criminals I would vote for, over the criminals the two parties have been placing on the ballots in recent times.

well it is California and he has a (D) after his name so he could waterboard babies in public and still get 280,000 votes.

Well, we ask ourselves how many voters are like the 'man on the street'?

In that race?

I'd say about that many.

Well that makes for 280,000 maniacs.

Unbelievable.

These poor shmucks all came in behind Yee:

Trailing Peterson, Padilla and Yee are: Democrat candidates Derek Cressman and Jeffrey Drobman, Republican Roy Allmond, the Green Party’s David Curtis, and Independent Dan Schnur.

That's got to be a horrible feeling.
