Florida cop doesn’t like being filmed, has activist falsely detained for public masturbation.

Initially this video was a bit difficult to follow, however after watching it closely it is quite clear (and undeniably true) that an officer that did not like a member of Cop Watch filming them did something quite dastardly.

He called in a complaint to his own department that the Cop Watch activist was masturbating in his vehicle. This in turn led to the protestor being falsely detained. IMO given the level of blatant corruption in this case the guy detained was quite lucky to not be railroaded into living life as a sex offender.

It really is getting out of hand. (no pun intended, really)

Well I would press charges if I was the activist…considering filing a false report is still a crime. Also pretty sure you could sue for defamation of character, slander, libel, as well as pain and suffering. Sounds like someone just won the lottery.

ETA: maybe tourqeythepig can come shed light on the avenues one would have to fight back seeing as he is an active duty florida police officer.

So this guy just goes around filming cops waiting for them to make some sort of mistake?
He is effectively poking the big fat bear with a short sharp stick. He has every right to do that.
And the bear can't legally eat him......but then again, sometimes bears don't listen.

But it does pay out better than slots. Sure, you might get beaten or locked up for a period of time but when that ka-ching rings it's a holiday.

Expecting to be abused by law enforcement is more a sure thing these days than any IRA.

That's true. sooner or later youre going to get assaulted by these thugs. Hat's off to this guy. and everyone doing this type of thing.

I agree, but I hope that they don't just randomly follow cops around. I think it would serve them, and the public much better if they targeted cops known to abuse their power.

One would never catch me playing the game that cat plays. I have been on the short side of that stick before. On the other hand I have to applaud those that have the nuts to "Poke the Bear" these days. Kind of a catch 22 for me. I want to be that rebel that fights that fight. I also want to make a living and not spend my time dealing with cops...

That is true but I personally felt that his response from another thread was exactly in line with what my contact in a Virginia Commonwealth Attorney's office said. That lends credence to his statement with me. I guess since I live in FL I could always go on down and have a drink with the guy and check his badge out for us lol.

My parents installed security cameras because they got assaulted by the police. No doubt the police need to be watched and kept in check. The US and Florida is quickly becoming a police state and over and over again the police show they are above the law.

Susanne M. Ravn of the Brevard Country Sheriff's office was the main culprit. She is now a corporal I do not think a cop who has a significantly higher arrest rate than her peers makes one a good cop.

To whom it may concern, Susanne M. Ravn needs to removed from her post as a police officer for abuse of power.

I am not familiar with this specific case.

If the man filming has evidence that this officer filed a false complaint against him he needs to contact the department and make a complaint. Filing a false report is an offense in which can result in an arrest. Since it is a crime of moral turpitude the officer should be stripped of his certification if found guilty.

If I was the guy I would also contact the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and file a complaint.

Law enforcement should not tolerate police who lie and abuse their power. If that is occurring in this case the officer should be called out and dealt with.

When I read your posts I do get the feeling that you hate the police. That is fine.

I would tell everyone my full name, the department I work for and badge number but I do not trust that some ATS members wouldn't call and make false complaints against me.

I could always write your screen name on a sheet of paper and post a picture of it next to my law enforcement certification and badge. I would of course cover up the city name of the badge though.

However with me living in Florida, with the JSO's door to door campaign, an Army of undercover narcotics officers and confidential informants that make contact with a significant portion of the population, I am aware that the police state is real and getting stronger.

When the police, lawyers, and judges break the law they need to be held to the same standard as the rest of us are held to. Over and over again we are shown how the police abuse their power. I have experienced it first hand and I feel it is necessary to make others aware of what is going on.

The problem will be with the court system. Unless the accused is worth millions, the "peace officer's" word will always be taken as golden. Cops don't lie...according to county paid attorneys. They are incapable of it.

If I were the accused I would take the stand and say "Although, I wasnt masturbating nor is their any evidence of such, because I can only get off to Brazilian Fart Porn".
