Yup... we now have an introductions forum.

Seeing that we have gained 83 new members in the past three days (!), it seemed high time to add a forum such as this so everyone can get to know everyone else a little better (thank OzChris for the idea).

Well... "William" is indeed my real name.

Originated in, gulp, Buffalo, NY. Lots of snow and lots of chicken wings (yes... in Buffalo, we call them "chicken wings" not "Buffalo Wings" and no other city on the planet knows how to make them right).

I've been online since long before "online" was a cool place to be. I've been active since BBS and MUD's were popular. I have a copy (somewhere) of an e-mail from Mark Andreessen sending me the first public beta of Netscape 0.9... so that means I'm all self-important and crap like that.

Even further back, I did a lot of research on almost every topic represented in these fora. But now I'm a skeptic so don't ask.

Today I work in advertising and live in Manhattan (the center of the universe, and I've come to realize no one else outside of NYC knows how to make pizza) and have two sons older than most of you (one is a member, try to guess his username)... I know, I've sold my sole so shut-up about it.


(I know soul isn't spelled "sole", Netchicken, I'm also an atheist... so it's hard to say "sowl")

Actually, I rather think the opposite!

I no longer wring my hands over being a "sinner" despite being an all-round good guy.

I no longer look down my nose at others with believe systems that aren't mine (as I was originally taught to do).

I don't pray for things to happen, I go do 'em myself.

I don't hope the world ends in my lifetime.

I sleep-in on Sundays.

I don't try to convert others to my way of thinking.

And I think we're responsible for our own selves, not beholding to someone else's plan.
