Strange phenomena happened yesterday in the coast of Venezuela

Well a little after 3PM was low tide, but that was only about 1/2 meter, so I would not know of the other 3.5 meters. Must have been a hell of a lot of sand showing, was there a picture? The next spring tide is not until the 12th so that is not it.

How about a massive body moving across the area to temporary pull the ocean out.

No one in Venezuela knows what happened, another Venezuelan organism is saying it could be a magma shift know as Bradyseism

This will be never solve by Venezuelan authorities , they gives wild theories like this but forget little details like the swarm of earthquakes this movements have.

Also it seems this takes years to happen...

Other theories includes temperature changes in the water, a cold bubble would decrease the volume of the water.

To try to remove some speculation, Monday 2 of june starting at 3pm local time sea level in a localized part of the short of Venezuela receded 4 meters, there is no report on how fast this happened but at 6pm, 3 hours later the sea level returned to normal. Something similar happened in another part of the coast of Venezuela in 2010, there is no indication of unusual seismic activity in neither of the cases.

A severe drought occurred in 2010 where the level of the biggest hydroelectric dam in Venezuela dropped to historic lows, 2014 has been a particularly dry year too and the country is under rationing regime to avoid the collapse of the dams.

No storm occurred nearby to the incident during june 2



The shore where the phenomena happened is shallow for a considerable extent.



Due to the nature and availability of oil in Venezuela, Hydraulic fracturing is not employed in the country, the territorial sea have big reservoir of natural gas but there are not being exploited at large scale. (As a side note experts warned Chavez that if the price of oil keep up for long periods of time shale oil would be profitable and US would decrease their imports, one of the reasons people think Chavez pushed so hard to sell to the less profitable Chinese market with higher transport cost).

El niño peaked around February 2010 and it is expected to start again this summer, in coincidence with the phenomena in Venezuela.

So it appears its a conjunction of several atmospheric factors ratter than seismic activities, it would be nice to know how a phenomena in the pacific ocean affects a small shore in the Caribbean sea in a small period of time, so its more logic to be something local, as an unusual cold current plus atmospheric conditions.

i think theres some footage somewhere of the thing you describe ,
