I like to try and do SOMETHING with weekends.

Although I do not often choose high impact activities involving the throwing and kicking of variously shaped balls. That said, I need to do that or something similar next week. Although my shoulders and groin ligaments are mostly made of lava at the moment, its a good ache!

We kind of have to encourage cats to hang around our place.

SW Colorado/four corners area is the heart of hantavirus country.
and you get hantavirus from mouse droppings.

Yes I like birds but I like good mousers even better in my part of the world

Better not let Mrs. R see that you forgot that one, even for a moment! "Afternoon Delight" is always the best because you really mean it.

Thanks. He lived a good long time, and I'm glad I got to know him a bit before he went. He was a rare kind of soul, and he will be missed. On the bright side, I had a great night following the funeral. Partied with two guys I didn't even know. Went very well. My late friend was someone who could walk into a concert and walk out arm in arm with a fellow he only met fifteen minutes previously. He made friends that easily. So I think I kept his spirit alive for a moment or three.

Funny how things change after you have kids.
Nowadays
"Afternoon Delight"
means getting to sneak away for a nap while the other parent gets stuck watching the little ones.

Ah good ole peace quiet and solitude AKA "Afternoon Delight"

Hey I can understand that-I would be the same if there was a nasty disease like that over here.

Silicone, your reply is a reminder that any weekend is a roll of the dice for all of us, and bully for you for stepping up to the occasion (which sometimes means just showing up, and far too few people do that these days). I feel quite frivolous now, with my wine-snarfing, pork-grilled weekend.

Lucky bastard...
Visiting Scotland is way up near the top of my bucket list.

BTW what's the deal --- Are they really going to break away from the UK?

I spent most of the weekend pretending to be a wasp, by randomly running into windows, avoiding being swatted by newspapers, and attacking people's ice creams.

Wait a minute...
are one of my daughter's puppies?
Sliding glass back door out to the yard gets them every time!

It was a meeting of members for the first time and much fun was had.

Break away ? I doubt it, but the chance is there, let's hope they take it and show us English hoe to run a country properly.
