Jason had returned and was safely out of sight as the D.P.s err he needed to stop thinking that way ! As the town folks started showing up for the
meeting. As he sat in the drivers seat of the next APC in line he had a clear view of the area John had prepared for the arrivals.
John had managed to find some poles that had been placed into the ground an two plastic tarps; one for the ground and one as a top covering just
incase anyone wanted to sit on the ground (Ryujin) or an unwanted camera flew by..
There were already three people under the tarp two men and a woman which seemed to be enjoying the sandwiches, coffee, Tea, and a soda immensely..
John was very audible through his hot microphone.
Machine noise.....Who would have thought two would arrive by a motorcycle, amazing ?
It must be the Japanese young fellow, Ryujin that John said had the envelope... some girl was sat behind him.
When they dismounted the bike Jason was sure the girl was armed with a pistol as her top rode up during the dismount... He probably would have been
armed too... No harm.. Just a little more attention for this one..
As they both stepped under the overhead tarp John gave a respectable bow to the Asian kid while speaking his name and when finished stuck his hand out
to the girl while introducing himself..
She just looked at him and mumbled something Jason could not quite make out but it sounded to him like Sandra or Samson with a nice to meet you
mumbled for good measure ? Hard to tell ... OK plan "B"
John offered them both drinks and sandwiches and the girl (S?S) seemed to recognize the other arrivals by at least acknowledging their presence;
almost acted as if it was a big deal to smile at them or do the "mumble speak"; she was young and already had a deep deep chip on her shoulder
according to Jason's first read.
John had decided to wait until 6 AM to see if anyone else was going to show. This was more a meet and greet setting to take the edge off of what the
teams had done to this little town.
To say Jason was really glad he had delegated this meeting to John would have been an understatement. To Jason, John was better at hiding his feelings
than Jason thought of himself. Besides he hated smart a$$ kids with no manners and that was kind of the indication he got from S?S.
"It was a weird team that Ryujin had hooked up with", thought Jason out loud.
John heard it over his ear piece and smiled in Jason's direction with a slight nod.
If Ryujin was with her there might be more than some punk rocker spoiled brat under all the attitude she had displayed so far.
Either that or maybe Ryujin was not exactly the character John had thought him to be ? The company you keep and all that stuff...
Time would tell.
"First impressions but impressions none the less", popped into Jason head.
Ryujin on the other hand carried himself with poise and dignity even though he had what looked to be a rather nasty scalp wound on the left side of
his head.
"That must have hurt and would leave a nice long scar"..... just random thoughts that passed though Jason's mind as he watched the meet and greet
unfold.
Ryujin had already reached into his back pack (no hesitation ..good sign, trust was already there between John and the kid) and passed a rather large
envelope to John. They both had bowed and John had handed the package off to Sargent Smith to have multiple copies made. John had explained in a voice
for all to hear that according to their CIA contact the contents of the envelope contained very important information from the Japanese Embassy on
matters of national security for both countries; with Ryujin's permission it would be all copied and the original would be returned if he so
wanted..
***Couldn't very well say it was the contents of the envelope that had got the town almost blown away... Ryujin might have had a rather rough time if
it had been explained the papers and a couple of computer sticks got most everyone killed..***
"My father had said to give to you. I have fulfilled my promise so anything more is up to you".
"All I ask is to please impose on you once again to speak with my father so he knows the envelope has been passed."
"John bowed once again and said, Anything you need Ryujin you just ask"
To Jason it looked like a bobbing for apples contest without the water much less the apples..
However, Jason had learned long ago to respect other people's customs; you lived longer if you did plus Jason had a soft spot for Asians.. Some of the
little F*ers were tough as nails and could kick higher than Jason could stand..Which was a lot at 6'6".
