Well, that's understandable, and you are NOT wrong for wanting that. That's how dating should be, in my opinion.

In that case, I would recommend telling someone up front that's how you see dating. It might or might not work out, but if you both go in looking for something permanent, then you have the same hopes, and start honest with one another. So, when discussing a possible date, make that known right away, in a manner that makes her know you aren't planning to propose on date two, but are looking int hat direction down the road, if all goes well.
