Why did you come to ATS... What's your age... I dare you?

Hiya folks...

Just been having a quick ponder after being here since the day of Mrs Rs 38th birthday back in 2012, (Yep I am still a noobie and proud to be so...)

Many contributing members seem to skip over introductions of new members here, so I would like to propose the following in order that some of us might get to know a little more about each other :

Since joining ATS I have become familiar and feel certain affinities with many quality posters here and also love reading introductions from new members, (even though I don't answer every time a new poster introduces him/her self)... (and also, even on forums that I myself do not contribute to as sometimes way out of my line of thinking... I WILL ALWAYS READ and maybe star and flag from time to time...)

I have also become very familiar with certain members of the moderation staff (You know... the poor buggers that have to cope with some of the daftness that we may come out with from time to time... and all for free?)...

Erm I take that back... I heard that bacon sandwiches are often used as bribery by Skeptic Overlord in order to keep staff members here... please correct me if I am wrong...)

Reason why I came here you may ask?...

Well, basically because I am curious about everything in life and found a site that was pretty open minded with well thought out forums for just about every taste in life... leave the porn to the porn merchants.

Personally I love reading about almost everything here and will contribute when possible to almost every subject apart from Philosophy and Metaphysics as to be quite honest... I am crap on this subject...

Quite often you will find me just about everywhere here as I have a wide interest in most current events... including everything which is deemed as paranormal... etc etc etc...

If you are interested, Iwould be curious to know just exactly brought you ladies and Gents here right from the very beginning and would love to know your age?

Members and Mods... come on... I dare you?

48 years old but feel like a youngster of 30... *coughs*... explained the reason why I came to ATS above.

I saw one of the silent black flying triangles back in the 90's and was bored one day and googled it, and stumbled upon ATS. I love that there are so many different forums, from short stories to UFO's, Its easy to spend the entire day in front of the computer, lol. After lurking for quite some time I decided, what the heck and joined.

My name is J.V , im 26 years old and im from the southern part of Israel (mostly desert here).
Among other sites i read from, ATS is one of my favorite alternative information sites . Im a passionate truth seeker, and reading is one of my favorite free time activity.
My understanding of English is very good for a second language, but i dont comment because i sound retarded when speaking and writing. I find it hard to express my opinions on the different subjects (which from point of view are unique) by writing in English.

I was a lurker before I signed up & found myself wanting to respond/comment but naturally couldn't
I've never joined a site --not FB/Twitter-- so I was at first unsure about it

Over time, as I got familiar with the site as well as many members, I felt it was time to take the plunge
And I wished I had joined sooner

There are many topics that are discussed here and I have no one else, besides my husband, that finds it interesting
The people I'm around are not as open-minded and we usually end up having simple conversation which is nice but can be boring

So, here I am
I just turned 48 a couple of weeks ago
Been married 29 years

As far as the members go, boy there are some terrific guys/gals here!!
This is like my second family now

One thing I can say since joining....my typing is better/faster than it used to be!! LOL

Reason for joining? Hmm well iv always had odd things happen around me, although that maybe because of my open minded perception, and I enjoy reading about other peoples experiences. It was time to share my own and I joined. Im 21btw

I was born in '72, but I still run across many people who think I am lying when I tell them my age. I came here looking for answers. I have had many odd experiences, covering a broad range of paranormal phenomenon throughout my life. I have pretty much given up on that quest. I stick around because it's a good source of breaking news and there seem to be some insightful, kind, and intelligent people here. I also get a kick out of some of the loonies. It's fun.

I smelt the faint wifft of Bacon from far into the net and I found some on ATS Alien Bacon mind you.
Nah I found ATS just typing ufos and stumbled across it.
Lurked for a few weeks and decided the members are my type of insane so here I stay Mahahahahahaha.
Ats has taught me allsorts.

ATS is the t*ts. It has something for everyone.
I'm 36, but I've been here for a long time. I was a lurker for many moons until I registered.
Most of the time, I don't even sign in...but every once in a while I find something worthy of commenting on.
This is a great community...but the trolls are strong here too. You must learn to see past them.

Remember..."Any sufficiently advanced troll is indistinguishable from a genuine kook."

Am 71 now though feel half that .. 13 ex-wives scattered around the world .. 6 adopted kids ( 4 war orphans 2 fukushima orphans ) one grandson and another grandchild on the way .. 4 tours vietnam with s.o.g .. 40+ years putting people back together in warzones around the world now semi-retired..

I lurked for awhile but my curiosity got the best of me as it usually does :-)

My interest is more in the paranormal etc but found myself reading from all the forums.

I enjoy Gaming to the Max. I play D&D, Pathfinder and a myriad of other TTRPGs. I love Magic: The Gathering and beat super Mario bros. at three years old.

I am, you could say, a starving artist. In other words, I'm a bum. I am currently working on a detestable number of poorly written novels. I absolutely love (and wishes I lived in) the world of George R. R. Martin's seminal masterwork A Song of Ice and Fire and honestly wish I could join the Night's Watch some days.

I joined ATS in 2012, well actually 2023 but that is a tale unto itself (is he joking?) My dad was the one the got me hooked. "Check out this website" he said as a naive Lurker. I never looked back.

I currently live in Florida but hope to be moving back west, Oregon specifically. I was born in the US but I have always felt British at heart, I don't know why. So if you see me talk as though I am from the UK, well, I'm just a poseur. Though I hope to visit one day. I absolutely live British cinema, young ones and spaced are two of my very favorites and I absolutely adorable the Pythons.

I'm currently 27 but act as though I am 12 and there us nothing you can do about it (I'm not sorry).

My overwhelming conspiracy urges were overwhelimng me one day so i typed conspiracy theorie's into the search engine which was overwhelmed with choices. Landed here which can be quite err, can be.... errrr whats the word, ah yes overwhelming when first arrival.
Took me a while to navigate the site and then i was hooked.
I live in the Wicklow mountains which is a few miles outside of Dublin City here in Ireland.

I never did an introduction thread, I snuck in by way of the shadows and pretended like I belong here.

I had many reasons to look for a forum like this, but the one thing that woke me up to the existence of a rabbit hole was when I realized that Bush and Kerry were both from the same spooky and secretive group. It didn't make any sense that in a nation of 300 million people the 'choice' for President was between two men from the same little organization. To me that defied any kind of logic. So I started searching for information about political conspiracy, eventually leading me to try finding other people who might want to talk about similar things.

So a few years later here I am at 29 introducing myself. (Waves at everyone) Hi ATS!

I first joined here thinking it was an online alcohol rehab program.
There are genuine good people on this site and I enjoy the content of the forums.

Hey... seems that the Mods are still snuffling and snurgling into their pillows dreaming of bacon sarnies no?

I am sure that the site owner can also tell us why he created ATS and how old he/she really is... *gets zimmer frame out just in case*... I have a total respect for the oldies... nearly there myself in 2 tears time...
