Yes. Because, don't you want to be treated equally?
No one has the right to food that someone else has grown on their own land. Or money earned legally by someone else.


Everyone in america has a right to education up too 12th grade.

And neither does the law. Convicted felons lose their right to have equal say .. loss of voting rights. Also loss of liberty. But I think this is a case of them throwing away their equal rights, rather then them being denied equal rights.

I think insisting on rights without recognizing they imply responsibilities is where a lot of our problems come from. I may be worth linking specific rights to specific responsibilities.

I also think children may require different rights and having a child means you incur additional, possibly temporary responsibilities.

Philosophically my approach to think to the bottom of this would be to start from the assumption that any adult is sovereign and should have an explicit agreement with any organization he or she decides to proxy that sovereignty to. Practically how to best implement that is not a simple issue. And we can dream

From my point of view we have a fascistic world government working behind the schemes (maybe with the exception North Korea and Iran) in form of corporations to big for the politicians to oppose where we are using socialistic measures to collectivize cost/losses. Profit trickle to the top while the many pay for everything.

Just look at the minimum wage and for instance Mcdonalds. You take taxes by the state to pay for benefits that is needed for people to live on minimum wage with the help of corrupt politicians and corrupt media. US is starting to be like Soviet Russia. Another version of state capitalistic power pyramid where the oligarchs rule and Politicians rule the people in the name of "communism".

I do not have anything against people getting more/luxuries if they buckle down. The problem I have is that it has gone from getting what you deserve to insane rampant greed no matter the damage to others and nature.

The African bank Ponzi scheme is another example. The western banks dump a lot of loan on corrupt politicians and let them steal the money and keep feeding on the inhabitants in Africa in interest on loans that never will be repaid thru increased taxes and forcing the countries to make bad deals with companies for their natural resources. Then go in with Aid and force the countries to sell of national companies in exchange for the money needed to pay the interest to banks.

I wonder if anyone in Africa would have starved if the western banks/society where not "helping" Africa.

I think the thread should be changed then to. Should all babies have equal rights? One could argue the inequality of rights for babies is what creates murderers, rapists and traitors.

But seriously, its not even a question of "should we". EVERY individual (regardless of what our government would have you believe) is born with certain inalienable rights.

The rights which the Constitution sought to protect werent just meant for Americans, it was a model for the entire world.

Which is what makes the actions of our government that much more horrendous. Our government should be upholding these inalienable rights.

Instead, they are constantly looking for ways to violate these rights, using loopholes and twisted definitions to try and justify their agendas.

"Enemy combatant", "insurgent", "terrorist"... all technical terms used for the specific purpose of denying fundamental human rights.

This is exactly why Harry Reid referred to the Bundys and their supporters as "terrorists". His goal is to deny these people of their God given or naturally occurring rights.

Absolutely shameful.

We're not talking about some 3rd world cesspool, we're talking about the so called "leader" of the "free world".

They are literally trying to dismantle the Constitution everyday, especially the 2nd and 4th Amendments.

The world wouldn't even be able to agree on food rights. Think of all things involved and how humanity's cultures value their differences. Which way would be the way? You cannot begin to define food rights. Humanity is really sensitive about food. Attempting to have one set of standards? Efficiency over culture? Never going to happen! And I am just talking about food! We would all fight a war for our preferred way of life, even if the only conflict was cuisine. Equal rights within Cultures, not across the board forcing all cultures to assimilate into one. Equal rights, equal protections for those who choose to assimilate if they cannot obtain freedoms in their own cultures which they desire or feel globally entitled to. We are already doing this, it is just a slow and painful process. You cannot undo millenia of culture to appease equality of someone's design, no matter how well intentioned. Keep sending aid, food, etc., but only upon request. Do not mess with perceived entitlements within existing cultures other than your own. Wars start over less.
