Its not oily just stings your eyes do to high salt content but it is incredibly easy to float and very hard to drown yourself.

I know it's not oily, but it feels oily or greasy when you swim or touch it. If you've been there ya know what I mean.

As for it getting in the eyes, my friends say you need someone to help you out and wash your eyes clean because it hurts so bad, but I don't know because I didn't want to find out =)

The water of the Dead Sea has a greasy feel to it.
