Oh he we go again !

Now all of a sudden it's everybody's favorite pseudo-kollective Mr. Independent himself Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont.

He and big money cohort Senator Barbara Boxer from California want a minimum of 3000 big "fossil fuel" companies to pay a carbon tax because they don't have the right to *Destroy* Planet Earth !!

They won't let up on this whole Global CO2 warming banker/tax scam malarkey.

They are really pressing this latest banker scam now (remember ... I bet 97% of the bankers support this)

Can't wait till they consolidate this CO2 Carbon-Crap into trade-exchange derivatives just like the mortgage-backed derivatives that contributed to the last financial "crisis" a few years ago.

Don't they know we are still coming out of the mini ice age from a thousand years ago that peaked in the 1800's ?

Friday on Free Speech TV, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said it's time for a carbon tax on U.S. companies. He explained he and Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) want to target 3,000 of the most significant fossil fuel producers in the country because "people should not have the freedom to destroy the planet"...

Politicians and bankers... they're worse than the mob when it comes to extortion. So if they pull this off, where does the money go? Will it somehow be used to clean up behind the biggest offenders? Or is this just another case of taking, by force, money that doesn't belong to them?

Yes, it is a case of taking by force what doesn't belong to them.

I bet they have wasted more electricity generated by fossil fuels, and burned more oil travelling around to talk this, than shutting 3 of these companies down entirely would save.

CNN Boss Zucker: 'Tremendous' Lack of Interest in Our Climate Change Stories

from above link...

CNN boss Jeff Zucker conceded that his audience is not interested in the network's global warming agenda, but he indicated that he will try to find more creative ways to make them care.

And we now see that CNN and any cohorts are in on the scam-sell too !!

Notice how the big Mr Z is only interested in what HE can do to make "people" think one way.

Big Mr Z is a banker true and true.

These old money guys need to be exposed and called out.

Hey good question!

I'm glad somebody has bothered to actually ask this question - instead of drowning away in spittle like most of the actual "alarmists" on this site, who do nothing but rant empty paranoid rhetoric when they clearly don't understand a single thing about this stuff.

You see, if this carbon tax is like the carbon tax already implemented in British Columbia, Canada - the money goes right back in your pocket. That's because it is a revenue-neutral tax:

Revenue-neutral: The carbon tax will be revenue neutral. Legislation will require a plan to be tabled in the legislature each year, showing how the revenue raised will be returned to taxpayers. All revenue generated by the carbon tax will be returned to individuals and businesses through reductions to other taxes. None of the carbon tax revenue will be used for expenditure programs.

Source: BC Government Website

So it's actually an extremely beneficial tool for helping the environment while also having no ill effects on regular people and small businesses. It in fact helps level the playing field between the little guy and big industry.

That's because the only ones actually being harmed by this tax are companies making big profits off of carbon pollution (e.g. oil companies).

This is exactly why they've launched a massive propaganda campaign against climate change, carbon taxes, etc. And all the knee-jerk alarmists on this site get completely suckered by this nonsense, because they go immediately into big government paranoid rant mode, instead of you know - asking questions and trying to educate themselves about something (like an actual skeptic would).

Any 'carbon tax' must exist not for just targeted companies... but be universal

for example, the USA under the flake president... wants to kill ALL coal mining and coal-fired electrical-generation plants -> in the USA

Big Deal... China has in-the-meantime... ramped up coal mining and coal-fired electric generating plants that far exceeds what the USA has decommissioned=---- they need that power to meet factory orders for product that once was made in the USA
So who is the culprit here ?? China for creating carbon pollution to make products for the USA/world
or should every nation/population be equally responsible for carbon tax/cleaning the air... I say everyone is liable

if any planet wide clean-up is necessary--- it is not just the producer-manufacturer--- it is also the end user creating the demand in the first place

I wouldn't believe THAT for all the tea in China !!

Sounds like pathetic malarkey.

Which explains why you seem to be completely out of touch with reality.

BC's revenue neutral tax has been in place for years - and it's been a huge success:

B.C. carbon tax cut fuel use, didn't hurt economy

Ooops guess breitbart.com forgets to mention stuff like this. But keep up the good fight against the liberal eco-nazi agenda, or whatever...

You don't seem to understand something here, these corps will not make less money, they will just charge us more, for a net loss to us all.

There is not one single tax in America that doesn't take away from the little guys.

Tax the rich more, they pat us less and charge more.

Economics isn't your strong suit is it?

Exactly.

Instead of trying to even consider something with an open mind - you ran straight to google and typed in "BC carbon tax SCAM" to desperately find anything you could to reinforce your pre-disposed views.

Looks like you found some real reputable sources there too lol.

Any ATS members who want to actually educate themselves and consider something critically with an open mind, aka deny ignorance, can just google "revenue neutral carbon tax" or "fee and dividend", without adding "scam", or "is the greatest idea since sliced bread!" and judge for themselves.

Or just keep reading breitbart and make all those cognitive dissonance square pegs fit into round holes.

The more they charge you, the more incentive there is to seek out other carbon-free alternatives - there are already plenty of them available. And because the system is revenue neutral the overall effect on the economy is nil.

But yeah, I'm the one who doesn't understand economics.

Why is it that one can only be open minded or informed if they agree with the loony lefts idiocy?

Since your so informed, and open minded, what do you think Exxon will do when forced to pay more taxes.

Will they A. Lose money
Or B. Just charge us all more for the same services?

Now, revenue neutral taxation.......lol you really do drink the koolaid don't you.

There is no such thing, because the government does not give you your money back, they use obamanomics to fudge the numbers to make it sound good, obamacare saving us money....etc.

Come on man, I just sat here and in 3 minutes destroyed your propaganda with nothing but the simple application on logic.

Plz sir continue, this is funny for me to watch.

No there are not, once again more lies and propaganda.

Solar cells pay themselves off in 30 years on average, but are only good for 10 to 15= net loss of money for a lesser return.

Wind mills....lol plz don't make go there, I will only hurt you feelings.

Ethanol......lol if using 2 gallons of gas to get one gallon of ethanol that isn't even as good as one gallon of gas is a good idea to you........not of course mentioning the corn pulled out of the market to make ethanol simply causes rising food prices as well.

I mean do you even think before spewing libtard talking points?

I don't know - maybe launch an enormous propaganda campaign that encourages disenfranchised but clueless sock puppets all over the internet to spew out the exact sort of talking points you're spewing across this thread?
