Very thoughtful Night. That was nice.....
I liked the movie where he was flying.
Can't think of the name right now.

Guys, I am going to go wash the dishes.
It's a rarity for me,but I want to help CC out a little.
I'll get em done before she wakes up.
What a surprise it will be for Her, eh?

Back soon...... Syx.

Hi Everybody!

It's quite sad to hear of so many of my friends are having RL probs just now.
and quite brilliant that we are all here sharing them! (A load shared... and all that!!)

and.... since there seems to be a mini epidemic of frogs and toads at the moment in the Shed!! (I'm looking at YOU Night!! LOL)

I am going to share with you, one of my all-time favourite words...

PUDDOCK!

Repeat LOUDLY after me - "PUDDOCK! PUDDOCK!! PUDDOCK!!!" and tell me that you're not smiling??

Puddock is the auld Scots word for a frog! and (like many auld Scots words) I think that it suits the creature far better than it's modern English language name.

So, presented for your amusement and entertainment, here is an auld Scots poem called "The Puddock" which at one time long ago was taught in Scottish Schools!

I hope that you all enjoy it!!!

The Puddock by J.M.Caie

A puddock sat by the lochan's brim
An' he thocht there was never a puddock like him.
He sat on his hurdies, he waggled his legs,
An' cockit his heid as he glowered through the seggs,
The bigsy wee cratur was feelin' that prood
He gapit his mou' an' he croakit oot lood
'Gin ye'd a like tae see a richt puddock,' quo' he
'Ye'll never, I'll sweer, get a better nor me
I've fem'lies an' wives an' a weel-plenished hame
Wi' drink for my thrapple an' meat for my wame
The lasses aye thocht me a fine strappin' chiel
An' I ken I'm a rale bonny singer as weel
I'm nae gaun tae blaw but th' truth I maun tell
I believe I'm th' verra MacPuddock himsel' ..

A heron was hungry an' needin' tae sup
Sae he nabbit th'puddock and gollup't him up
Syne runkled his feathers, 'A peer thing,' quo' he
'But - puddocks is nae fat they eesed tae be.'

cheers!
G

My granny used to say..
"If you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all!!"
LOL

To put a pic on here you have to go to the UPLOADS page.
You get there by clicking on the "down arrow" at the top of this page (5th symbol from the right) then clicking on "uploads".
Once there, you click on the "UPLOAD" icon at the top left.
Then "SELECT FILES".
That lets you browse your computer for the photo file you want to upload, so select the file you want, then you have to click on the green UP arrow next to the "SELECT FILES" button. (That initiates the actual upload)
Once uploaded, a thumbnail of the photo will appear in the uploads page.
Click on the thumbnail and a larger version of the photo will open, with three sets of code underneath.
To Post the whole photo (full-size) into the thread, copy the code from the 1st window (Just under the label: BBcode for use in post) then paste that code into your Post in the thread.
If you just was a small thumbnail, then you would copy and paste the code from the 2nd window etc.

Sounds complicated, but if you take it in wee steps one at a time - it's ok!

regards
G

I'm mighty fine old chap!
Got the strapping off of my knee last night and...... I think it's all better now!!! (After about 11 weeks!!) ***applause***
Still got the "dizzy" thing going on, but I am invoking the power of positive thinking on that one, and it'll turn out to be a mild inner ear infection or something equally minor!

Weather's looking OK today up here, so should have a pleasant day at work, then jamming over the "folked up" acoustic music tonight with Gordy No.2, so all's well!

How's things at your end?

I gave myself a wee giggle last night - watching your Birthday video again!!
I think we should have the next gathering in your shop!!! LOL (That way you wouldn't need time off! We could all help scare, erm... I mean serve the customers!!
