I am in the west so I have not heard this noise at all nor do I know if this is related to "the hum heard around the world" but Canadian scientists have zero'd this particular hum to and Island in Michigan but no answers so far from US officials.

WINDSOR HUM

My phone is having trouble with the quoting tools so please bare with me. The following is from the linked article.

The source of the mysterious Windsor Hum in the southwestern Ontario city is on Zug Island — in River Rouge, Mich. — according to a federally funded report released today.

Watson said U.S. officials must now determine the precise location of the noise. Copies of the federal report have been given to Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder and the mayor of River Rouge.

“We look forward to further discussions with them,” Watson said.

So is this an American inside joke? Why the tight lips?

Thank you. I will read through that.

This report; I believe, is recent. Up until I read this - having never heard it myself - was a bit of a wild theory as far as I could tell. Until I saw this in the globe and mail this morning I never gave it much credence.

Something is up. I read your first post in your thread and I am really hoping that it is not a weapon test

That is a fact. So if it is an expensive operation it has to be a federal thing cause your right, Michigan can't afford cops* forget about WMD's.

Im hoping not as well. Just speculation though since everyone "in-the-know" are staying tight lipped. The truth is, some one some where knows what it is. Whether is caused by production machines or whether its some clandestine weapons test, somebody knows.

I used to hear the hum out on the Navajo reservation near the New Mexico/Arizona border. Sounded like a really, really big truck idling--deep repeating sound. Wasn't a whole lot out there and heard it frequently at night. Definitely wasn't traffic as the only cause for a traffic jam was a herd of sheep or cattle crossing the road. Heard it living in three different houses and two fairly close towns out there so definitely wasn't a neighbor endlessly idling his semi, lol. Only thing I can think of as a man-made cause for what I heard out there was a coal mine operation run by Chevron/Texaco at the time. That was about 8-15 miles away, depending on residence.

Story started in 2011, and is years old. Im from the area....not new, and limited to a small area across from a Industrial Island called ZUG island.

As of a $60,000 Federal Study concluded this week I believe, its been announced the sound is coming from that island.(and its a big, dirty and stinky place along the Detroit River with mountains of a black coal-steel type debri called COKE).

Why spend $60,000 on this phenomenon when the researchers could've seen an episode of "Joe Rogen Questions Everything" to find out the source of the hum. One way to stop the hum is an environmental cleanup of Zug Island. If not, Ford, the State of Michigan, and the U.S. could be sued in U.S. Federal Court and on International Court in the Hague by the Canadian Gov't. on environmental negligence.

Michigan is trying to drive some Canadians crazy. Maybe some resonance signal from some piece of equipment in someone's basement radiating along a crystalline mineral ore body.

Just try to figure what was built when the sound started, probably some casino.

It's back
Windsor Star

Whether they describe it as non-stop truck idling or noisy washing machine, residents in west Windsor, LaSalle and downriver as far as Amherstburg are fired up over the infamous Windsor Hum which is again grating on their nerves at all hours of the day and night. “It’s just been crazy,” said Mike Provost, a retiree in the 3800 block of Hillcrest Boulevard. “My wife and I we can’t believe how bad it’s been. It’s affecting our health. You get more headaches, it can hurt your ears and you have a lack of sleep.” Provost tracks noise levels daily and his findings over the last several weeks, which he reports on Facebook, points to the Hum “being crazy.” He uses a 1 to 10 scoring system and recorded several instances of 10 plus under his noise tracking system.
