French Foreign Minister: '500 Days to Avoid Climate Chaos'

WHAT the heck is this about? Only 500 days to avoid 'Climate Chaos'???
Is this doom porn with a date from the French Foreign Minister?
Or is this pushing Obama's climate alarm from last week?
Is he talking about the December 2015 Climate Conference?
Something else? Anyone know? The wording is intense!

French Foreign Minister: '500 Days to Avoid Climate Chaos'

This is his exact quote -

Well, I’m very happy to be with John. There is no week without a phone call or a visit between John and myself, and we have on the agenda many items, many issues – Iran, because negotiations are resuming today; the question of Syria, and we shall meet next Thursday in London together; Ukraine as well; and very important issues, issue of climate change, climate chaos. And we have – as I said, we have 500 days to avoid climate chaos. And I know that President Obama and John Kerry himself are committed on this subject and I’m sure that with them, with a lot of other friends, we shall be able to reach success on this very important matter.

The article states that there is a climate conference coming in December of 2015. Is he saying that things have to go a certain way before that or else the climate conference will take drastic measures? THAT would be a conspiracy to talk about ... what is going on behind the scenes with countries in regards to climate control ... and in regards to corporations and their money making ventures under the guise of climate control ...

500 days .... and counting. What the heck are they up to???

The Info on the Climate Conference for Dec 2015

France was officially selected in Warsaw to host the 21st Conference of the Parties on Climate Change in 2015. France is already totally galvanized to ensure that a binding, fair, global climate agreement is reached in Paris in 2015, in order to limit global warming to 2ºC. ...

The meeting will mark a decisive stage in negotiations on the future international agreement on a post-2020 regime, and will, as agreed in Durban, adopt the major outlines of that regime.

By the end of the meeting, for the first time in over 20 years of UN negotiations, all the nations of the world, including the biggest emitters of greenhouse gases, will be bound by a universal agreement on climate.

In order for the agreement to come into effect in 2020, at the end of the second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol, subsequent COP meetings will work on finalising its details. The Presidency of the COP plays a vital role, not only during the actual COP meeting (in reality, a series of meetings held in parallel over a two-week period), but also in the organisation of a number of meetings held in preparation for the COP.

Is this what the French Foreign minister is talking about when he says only 500 days to avoid 'climate chaos'? Why would he use those words? They are intense words. There has to be a lot going on behind the scenes that we don't know about.

Load up on supplies. If you're not a prepper, you might just want to start.

I doubt anything happens, but it's good to be prepaired for the worst.

That does seem to be some high caliber doom porn there. I am the first to admit that I love some good doom porn but only when it's safe doom porn.

I'm not sure if those words were used to invoke fear to speed up some form of change or if there is something a wee bit scary behind it. One thing we know for sure... Is that we probably won't know. Unless of course we find ourselves being shaken off of earth like a bunch of filthy fleas in 500 days.

This is not new. There was another date like this a few years ago. It was supposed to be a date if we didn't all become super 'green' about everything we would be facing disaster after disaster. It was largely ignored. Majority of people on the planet don't care about the lump of rock we are living on.
Governments wheel it out every so often as an excuse to collect more taxes.

Sadly this thread will not get much attention as a European country has been named in the thread title... which does not interest most people here... even if someone wrote a thread about the hundreds of Turkish miners that have been buried and killed in Turkey yesterday it wouldn't matter... however, if you mentioned Obama was involved... like WOW....

So, if he's talking about the conference, (That's a BIG 'IF') there will be 'climate chaos' after the conference? And a post 2020 'Regime' ??? Those are high octane words ....

Hi Flyers,

I think that what must be taken into consideration is the way that his words have been translated by the journalst as well in order to make this article sell as doom porn... Jerl Bier the Journalist is an extremely pro American journalist and does not usually write articles about foreign affairs.

All links to keywords on this particular article always seems to go onto US based news sources and I personally cannot find anything on a European or other foreign news source site? (Especially in France where I live... Have not even heard this on the news over here?)

A reporter brought up Fabius’ comment to White House press secretary Jay Carney, drawing laughter in the press room when he asked, “I wonder what your timeline is.”

I wonder what nationality the reporter was???

Over here in France the word Chaos can also be used for catastrophic or chaotic.

I believe that the French Foreign minister was outlining the issue as catastrophic (word that also means extremly dangerous) but seeing as he is not PERFECTLY bilingual some unintelligent journalists have decided to use the word chaos in order to sell a story to the sheeple. (Probably being the reason that we over here in France of not heard about this story yet?)
