Obama's big fat promise that you could keep your health plan if you liked it is moving towards *Phase II* of the master plan.

Delay & implement then crush the Middle Class into absolute medical debt submission.

A Congressional hearing last week has some insurance executives claiming that millions more "plans" will be defun-ked soon enough.

The politicians are obviously using the insurance industry to implement a de-facto socialist-style "pay for it" system by trying to get most insurance plans to appear as "equal" and "equitable" as possible.

Last Wednesday, May 7, 2014, the House Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations held a hearing on “PPACA [Obamacare] Enrollment and the Insurance Industry.” (PPACA are the initials of the Orwellian name for Obamacare, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.)

The purpose of the hearing was to ascertain just how many Americans actually have enrolled in Obamacare, as well as who was responsible for the previous round of policy cancellations and who should face blame for the next round.

In the hearing, Congressman Cory Gardner (R-Colo) sought to get to the bottom of the health plan cancellations. He pointedly asked the insurance executives the reason for the cancellations.

President Obama had pledged publicly at least 36 times that his health care plan, known as Obamacare, would not force people who liked their current coverage to lose it before "tweaking" that promise Nov. 4.

I have purposefully for my whole life kept myself out of any kind of debts. I am a free man, and will act as I wish. Now for the first time ever, I am in debt by sitting here when the penalties start coming. I'll be in debt to the IRS for existing. It's a life tax.

Meanwhile I still have no healthcare. Not that I ever expected to have it as I have always been poor and learned the world was working on a pay to play business model. I wish I could afford to get at least a blood work up and physical, get my teeth cleaned.. My health isn't as good as it used to be... If I could afford to get my stuff together now, and prevent a dire situation later. It would save humanity money and life, and time.

If you want to own me, you might want to take care of me. You can't buy another one. The scattered god isn't happy with you am I?

It seems like health care in the US is meant to keep you well enough to work, then when you fall ill it sucks every bit of money out of you and when there is none left they pull the plug.

This year I have been to the hospital more times than I care to because of an aging grandmother. Even with medicare, my family is still paying about $500 a month out of pocket for health care expenses. The hospital stays and surgeries even though mostly covered, still left us with a few grand in bills.

On top of the health care bills piling up, she stays at a very nice assisted living facility that is pricey. Her and my grandfather had their own business, were very smart financially, and retired with a comfortable amount of money. That money has been consumed by health care expenses.

No surprise here. In my opinion the ACA is a disaster and the US will have to make a major adjustment to cope with the changes.

This coming from the same industry that has rescinded tens of thousands of policies over the years and left those people to die.

I just got a refund check from my insurance policy because they spent too much on administration and too little on doctors.

So this is the part where they crack eggs to make the omelette, right?

I always wondered what Humpty Dumpty must have felt like. Now that I know? Well... It sucks!

None of this will get any better if the government just makes it single payer. They will use the same equation - tax us out the nose for the privilege of having them make all the decisions about whether or not you are useful enough to provide care for (i.e. whether or not you are still useful to pay taxes), tax us into the ground to keep the system running and when we're all sucked dry, they'll put us on the US equivalent of the Liverpool Care Pathway - basically starve us to death in the hospital pretending to "care" for us.

Wait until the knock-on effect takes hold where people have to give up things in their life just because they are are required to pay for expensive insurance. For most people that may mean getting rid of expensive cell phone plans, cable and internet bundles, scaling back on what kind of car they drive if gas prices already didn't get the job done, a drastic cut in consumerism overall, and really just sitting around minding their pennies. Big business is really going to start to wonder what the heck happened, and they'll stupidly ask, where did everyone's disposable income go???? With prices rising and incomes stalling, this economic engine of ours is going to seize up in short order if they don't get a handle on this thing.

"If you like your plan you can keep it"
you have to watch the phrasing:
the plan is you die broke and then they sue your children for left overs and mattress bucks
thats the plan you get to keep...
like it ...or not

Big business probably will not take that big of a hit because they are heavily invested in staple products that we need and those with the lobbying power will still receive corporate welfare.

It is the small businesses that will take a major hit. Many will no longer afford to go out to eat at a restaurant and that industry will take a major hit. Just one example of how it could really get back for the average citizen.

Like many others are doing, I wish I could put on the blinders and say everything will be okay and health care costs will decrease as a result of ObamaCare. I hate being told lies.

Xuenchen,

I'd like to take the MOMENT to Thank You for keeping up on this ACA/ObamaCare ... Subject.

AND

IF I remember the setup ( or situation ) before all this ACA/ObamaCare started kicking in ....

Folks were beginning to go WITHOUT ANY INSURANCE ... ( and the number continuing to increase).

Wasn't it stated that there were upwards to 50 million without any insurance ???

I think ALL the Folks ( higher up the income chain ) thought ( or continue to think ) that most of these 50 million had the money to buy insurance BUT simply were holding out.

AND

By way of Penalty ( or TAX ), they thought this would force ( or encourage ) these 50 million to buy insurance.

HOWEVER

I have the OPINION that the 50 million didn't have the money to begin with AND they sure don't have the money for NEW and NOW more expensive insurance ... ( and with higher deductibles ).

Later in the Year, I THINK they WILL find out there COULD be a NEW 50+ Million that ... JUST DON'T HAVE THE MONEY !!! .... ( 50 + 50+ = 100+ million who don't have the money to buy ).

REGARDLESS

We'll just have to WAIT-n-SEE The-IF MY-Guessing becomes the ... NEW-Reality.

YES!, the Leftist/Liberals/Progressive (or whatever the proper politically correct label you want use to refer to the Supporting-ACA-Groups ), MAY have MUCH MUCH MORE to ... SLEEPLESSLY WORRY ABOUT !!!

-
Disclosure: I'LL RESERVE THE RIGHT TO BE WRONG ... ( any bets? Anyone ??? ).

You mean like this?

Health Care and the Candy Store Called Socialism

But the folks championing socialized medicine are always repeating tales of visits for simple cases of the flu or other travel-related illnesses. What is seen is the overflowing abundance of care at that level. This is the sugar, so to speak. Unseen are other types of care. The meat, eggs, etc. And this is where the failures of socialized medicine are as obvious as the lack of nutritious food in a Yugoslavian store.[1]

The stories from travelers paint a different picture from those told by people living in countries with socialized medicine. Many of these folks — those looking for meat — complain about either the unavailability of care or wait times that exceed the life expectancy of those suffering from the disease.

Remember that if you can't afford obamacare you can cancel your cable TV and cell phone as our leader suggested.

You will have affordable healthcare one way or the other... Law of the land.

That 50 million uninsured was thrown around along with other numbers as low as 30 million.

And yup, many had no insurance because of cost.

Some of that might be made up by the expansions of State Medicaid (if States can afford it without major tax increases later).

Another major problem for some people was the denials of policies for "pre-existing" conditions, for which solutions were well underway (prior to PPACA) by many States that had "high risk" programs. Those were also expensive however, and are no longer in effect. Many people had pre-existing conditions but were/are able to get policies through employers (provided of course, a person could keep a job to begin with).

One problem today with ACA are things *not covered* and things *covered* but only after the deductibles are paid up.

State High Risk Pool Programs and Enrollment (pre-Obama.Care)

And, I also think just as many will go without insurance as before, and ACA will also add newly uninsured that were previously insured.

On March 6, 2014, President Obama conducted a town hall meeting with Spanish-language media regarding the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare. He was asked about the concerns of many Latinos that the law is simply too expensive. He suggested that some families may be spending too much on cable television or cell phones, and not enough on health insurance.
