The reason military dictates hairstyle and bans facial hair is the same reason it requires uniforms-

Oh I agree and understand why the military does this…. i was part of that machine once upon a time…however the article poses the question about the ''senses'' of men in combat…….. being more with one with nature and sporting healthy locks of hair may prove to be more valuable than sporting a Jarhead baldy…..

I'm in my 40's now and most of my friends are losing or have lost it on top BUT i'm growing more and more…….it's a hit with the women now as well…….:-)))

Maybe they are really lesbians. Hair doesn't bother me, its natural... men have hair. I kinda like it... It's manly.

When I was 19 because my Dad went bald at 17 all my pals used to say "you will be bald in a couple of years" a while back we all got back together and I was the only one with a full head of hair Oh I was a smug boy that day .

Pretty sure lesbians have hair too.

Hair can be nice, but its when it gets "wild" its ugly and unattractive.

For example i feel bad for not liking to put up with a woman with hairy legs, i dont know its just i guess men are hairy and woman arnt, so when you date a woman who does have hairy legs its sort of a manly quality you dont really want. I honestly feel bad for thinking that way, obviously i can blame all sorts of society related things but i feel bad because its not actually "natural". And yet, im attracted to shaved ladies all the same. damnit.

In a way it makes sense, just think of goosebumps, when your hair on your body is standing straight up in a tense situation, it could mean you are activating the bodys defence/awareness system, and beard could be like a cats whiskers that is a big part of it's sensory system.

One thing i hate is the feeling of cobweb/spider web in my hair, i hate cobweb.

Absorbs harmful rays from the sun thus reducing skin cancer.
Hair follicles can make androgenic hormones.

Apparently 'Kesh' is the name / reason why Sikhs do not cut hair…. it is a demonstration to God of his perfection of his creation that his followers do not wish to alter…..

In recent times more younger Sikhs do cut and shave heads as a way of 'fitting in' with modern culture…

Keep my head shaved ..
1. long hair can (and often is ) be used against you in a fight.
2. long hair is difficult to keep clean
3. in hot / tropical climates long hair is uncomfortable.

As to enhanced awareness due long hair dubious as most people Ive seen are far from aware of their surroundings ..
Know of buddhist monks who are far more alert / aware and all shave their heads.

Lastly from experience women love men with bald heads ..
