Biden delivers 'Elizabeth Warren-type speech' at fundraiser

Washington (CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden appeared at a closed-door fundraiser in South Carolina Friday and delivered what one attendee called “an Elizabeth Warren-type speech” about the struggles of America’s middle class, remarks that were well-received by a room full of influential primary state Democrats.

Biden did not mention his own White House ambitions. But several Democrats at the event were struck by one remark he made about Bill Clinton’s presidency: Three sources there told CNN that Biden said the fraying of middle-class economic security did not begin during President George W. Bush’s terms, but earlier, in the “later years of the Clinton administration.” Biden, of course, could face off against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination in 2016 if they both decide to run.

Could it be that because of perhaps things like Benghazi, that Hillary can't be trusted to keep public support during the election. Considering the GOP will use every failure of White House during her time as Secretary of State against her. Diplomatic relations have taken a nose dive with Obama in office.

Perhaps they think Old Joe and the very popular Warren could pull a win?!

I think the Dems might need a younger, healthier horse if they want to run in the race.
An old nag, or an old gelding doesn't give a real choice......
I'd suggest they go back to the drawing board and do some serious brain-storming.

Biden has been pretty good at keeping his mouth shut as VP.

Maybe they'll run Warren as POTUS and keep him as VP. Or move him to Secretary of State and pick some other youngin'.

Although the GOP will use experience against them. They did it with Obama and largely they were right.

Drunk Uncle Joe is definitely a lot more charismatic and likable than Hillary that's for sure!

Not that they would get my vote nor would anyone the Republicans put up, but I can only imagine the comedy that would come out of the WH if Biden was elected!

I actually might get a chuckle out of listening to him lie versus wanting throw a brick thru my television with our current POTUS!

I think it's funny. Biden gives idiots a bad name, at least as much as Bush. Obviously, the democrats are "throwing" the election much like the republicans did with McCain and Palin LOL.

I wonder what terrors our handlers will embrace ***for us*** on the republican side of the fence. Political theater is more predictable than any movie or sitcom LOL.

I'd be very shocked if we have another president after Obama. I really think he's going to be the last one.

Not Biden.... please not Biden. And Warren is a ditzoid .. IMHO. (My apologies to Tothetenthpower .... but the woman is like fingernails on a chalk board to me)

Why don't the dems go with the logical choices?

IN 2008 Hillary was the logical choice. They went with Obama. She was a thousand times better qualified and better able to do the job. But they went with Obama. I don't get it. It made no sense to me.

What makes sense to me for 2016 - Former Gov Bill Richardson of New Mexico for POTUS in 2016 The man can do the job. He's qualified. He's capable. His list of scandals is rather short (compared to other politicians).

For Vice POTUS - I'd take Dennis Kucinich over Warren in a heart beat. But I'd like to see Senator Evan Bayh on the ticket as Vice President with Bill Richardson. Sen/Gov Evan Bayh is another one who is qualified and capable and could do the job of Vice President OR President if he had to step in.

Now don't get me wrong .. I don't intend to vote Democrat or Republican ... but I want to see the best possible candidates in the slots for the Dems and the Republicans because I know that one of them will get in. And when it comes to the Dems, a Richardson/Bayh ticket looks best to me.

Jeb Bush Vs Hillary clinton

Unfortunately, I think that's going to happen.

Hillary's time was 2008. That's when she should have gotten in. But the dems went with Obama instead. I think her time has passed. She'll be 70 when sworn in office. I think that, even though she's very qualified and capable, she shouldn't be in office at that age. But the dems will go with her I think ...

And the Republicans had their boy Christie take a nasty nasty fall with Bridge-gate. His thug colors came shining through. His cute Jersey attitude that so many of us (myself included) liked back in 2008 has been replaced with arrogance on an absolute scale. He could give those Chicago Political thugs (Obama's buddies) a serious time of it in the ring.

So my guess is the same as yours .... Hillary vs Jeb.

What I don't understand is how any thinking American could vote for an admitted Zionist? Does this mean that he puts jews and Israel before Americans? So this would mean to get ready for more wars, right? Iran, Syria, and anyone else who is standing in the Zionists way. Just more of the same. We need change, and not Obama change, but real change. We need people who aren't foreign traitors.

I think you nailed it with Gov. Richardson. He is Hispanic and the minority vote could swing it for the Dembs once again.

The GOP with out the minorities and women don't have a prayer. They will however do very well in the Senate, House and gov. races.

My hope is that another NM gov. Gov. Gary Johnson gives the Libertarian party another shot in 16. It was an honor and a pleasure to work for him and his staff.

eh; I hope not. (biden seriously running for office)

Clinton will be bad enough, but at least she won't be weak in getting some left-leaning policies passed. Obama compromised with the right wing more than he should have, and fumbled so much it was awkward to watch.

Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, are a good set of choices, they're progressive, and more importantly they have a spine.
Kucinich would be a good choice somewhere in this as well, as would several other progressive politicians (who aren't pseudo-progressives like Obama/clinton)

I wouldn't be so sure, I think that the shutdown has really lowered people's patience with house republicans.

I doubt if crazy Joe will get the nod for president. I think Alan Grayson should throw his hat into the ring. I would Support Bernie Sanders if he were to run.

If you think Joe is too crazy ... why on earth would you support Grayson? He's like a younger Joe hopped up on crazy steroids! Have you paid any real attention to any of the outlandish things he's said? He's a walking campaign ad for the opposition.

Honestly, the best things the Democrats could do is find one of their governors who is in a state enjoying some real economic success because that is what people want to see right now - an actual record of someone who promise that he or she had a real economic boom under their direct management. Hillary can't do that because it wasn't her management; it was Bill's. Biden sure can't, and Warren is a Senator from a Do Nothing chamber thanks to Reid.

That ticket is a conservatives wet dream! Please, a perfect ticket for a Dem grand slam loss. There is so much buffoonery on the part of "old Joe" to make hay out of. Yes, I'd love it. Maybe a libertarian would finally stand a chance.

You have a good point.

I can see him deciding to "change the law" using the "power of the pen" to lift term limits for the Presidency, setting him up as "President" for life. He has been willing to break the law over and over with the "power of the pen", why not just make himself vacationer in Chief for life along with Marie Ant.... Oh, Michelle.

I don't think the conservatives or the libertarians stand a chance in hell of defeating the democrats. The American electorate has the attention span of about 10 sec. and that's being generous. What matters in national elections is how the campaign is run. So far the GOP hasn't learned anything from their past mistakes. They will continue the mean spirited strategy of negativity; the Democrats will promise the moon and they will win.

Not that it really matters the corporate oligarchy doesn't care who wins or loses.

I hope the GOP offers up another Palin style candidate. That was entertaining!!
