The Ukrainians love to fly low. Although not as low as in your video an su-27 flown by the Ukrainians was a bit low in their display

They were also told of when their Ilyushin Il-76 departed last year for a low wing wag

Depends on how long they left the dump open. A fairly decent amount usually though.

Is the burning of the dumped fuel more of a gimmick? Did they realise they could light it using the burners accidently or did it have a genuine purpose ?

Purely an airshow trick. Because of the variable wing that's the only place they could put the fuel dump.

I was there that day. For a second I even thought I saw the back of my own head. And its possible as I was in RAAF uniform as a cadet and posted at the western end of the runway. When you see him perform an virtual wing over at around 3:30 I was practically underneath it and my jaw just about hit the ground as I thought I was witness to a disaster. That was an awesome weekend I wont forget, hard to believe its been 30 years since.

For the BTDT crowd, you'll get these videos better than the ones that haven't, but this YouTube channel nails it with every video.

The video is a bit long, so if you're impatient, jump to the 9 minute mark.

A genius trying to escape the police drove onto Lemoore and ran into an F/A-18.

A little concerning the guy was able to get so far into an active base without anyone from the base or outside enforcement chasing the vehicle. I would of thought if someone drove on to an active base all hell would of broken loose

That's the gun pod, or are you referring to something else?

that could be it, but why a gun pod for the sandbox? with all the CAS and the non existent jihad air force, it seems like an odd choice.

and im just waking up, i'll use that as an excuse

Operational testing in a real world environment. Even if they don't use it they can learn from the experience.
