If he had been conscious to pull the handles, with a popped strap it would have almost certainly been fatal.

Ah yes i forgot about the strap part sorry, but I could imagine if the pilot was conscious may of forgotten about the strap and ejected just because of what position he was in. 'S*** im sliding along the ground I can see fire, eject eject eject. *pulls handle* oh crap my strap' but i suppose with the time of pulling the handle to even thinking about the strap you're already out the aircraft

Fortunately for him, the impact almost certainly knocked him out almost instantly. Between impact with the ground, and impact with the stick he would have been out fast.

From the comments they've made, this was a speed and rocket test and they weren't as worried about altitude. They usually drop somewhere around 50-60,000 feet the couple times I've caught them on ADS-B.

We've taken delivery of our next three F-35A aircraft, all fitted with the program's final software system which unlocks the aircraft's full war-fighting potential. We're the first international partner to accept jets with this Block 3F capability.

This footage is of two of these F-35s leaving the Lockheed Martin factory and heading to Luke AFB where our pilots and maintainers are currently training.

Also the finish on the newer aircraft is MUCH nicer than earlier aircraft.

Also one is the jet in my avatar.
