That would be a cool sight to see. Never seen a water spout before seen a Tornado though. I remember a helicopter filming a waterspout in Wales off
the coast I think it was.
We had one come back from flying into Hurricane Iniki, heading towards Hawaii, that had the wire antenna wrapped around one prop (with the engine shut
down), one engine overheating, every vomit bag on the plane, and every other container they could use full, and about half the paint on the aircraft
stripped from rain and hail.
That's crazy I certainly wouldn't want to fly into one. I'm not scared of flying at all but I kind of dislike it as well. I think it's more a I'm not
in control sort of thing if you catch my drift. I hate being a passenger in a car as well especially after a pretty nasty crash a few years ago.
The NOAA uses a P-3 to fly through the storm. They use dropsondes in the eye to get pressure readings. They use a G-IV, and NASA has used a Global
Hawk to fly over the storm and measure the winds above the storm to get an idea of the steering winds around it.
The Air Force uses modified C-130s to do the same as the P-3s.
You're not allowed to shoot down the intakes anymore. They've made some changes to try to reduce the RCS somewhat, so most units are twitchy about you
shooting the intakes now, and official pics have to be blurred.
Pre flight drinks were a baaad idea. There is a video that slows the footage down but you get the idea. And if I were that person in the foreground
I'd be buying a lottery ticket, after I've changed my underwear

Sigh. I do apologise I done an ATS school boy error I didn't check to see if the video was posted else where before I posted my reply. I apologise but
the video was posted here before I posted it www.abovetopsecret.com...
