In the past few years I've seen many claims about Eucharistic Miracles... wherein the claim is that the "host" which is a little cracker becomes real blood, and in the case im speaking of specifically, actual tissue from the heart...

The claim goes on to say that this tissue shows evidence of a heart that has been through extreme trauma or stress...

Here is the video... Special Thanks to Colbe

The story is that during one of the rituals the priest dropped the cracker... they put it in water, and said cracker turns into an unexpected substance.... they do some studies on the material found and find that its a piece of heart tissue... Further more they claim that the material actually beats like a heart... and this isn't the only time its happened...

Now I've seen these before... but the problem is there doesn't seem to be anything I've found that debunks this claim...

The sources say "scientists"... even cardiac specialists have examined this evidence of said Miracle, and no one has an explanation...

My question is... why is this not front page news if its actually real?

I've searched the Vatican website, and there is no mention of these miracles... One would think the church would at least be looking into these incidences... I would think there would be an investigation to the reality of these claims

There are so many hoaxes and scams out there these days, its hard to say what is real and what is not...

I personally think this is a hoax...

I wonder though, has anyone looked into these so called "Miracles"?

IF you are considering replying to this thread... I don't want to hear smart assed comments... keep them to yourself

IF you don't believe this is real... that is fine, I don't either... but I am interested in getting to the bottom of this without every religious troll on the planet adding his/her .05 cents to the topic...

Please discuss rationally... be mature... and respect others opinions or beliefs

Thanks

Cannibalism at its most holy level.
Eat your god.

If indeed God created man, then demanded bull blood and fat and meat and other blood sacrifice before becoming human as Jesus and the whole transsubstanciation thing replaced the blood lust of the OT aspect yet were created in his image...doesn't this resemble a cannibalistic ouroboros?

Hi Akragon!
I just watched the video...wow, that was great! Never heard of this before, so thank you.
I don't know if it's true or not...(but if it's a hoax, kudos to the creator of it!)...however, trying to put some pieces together (in my head) is mind-blowing.

Cannibalism? It certainly is in keeping with the whole 'food chain' on earth. Don't want to go into THAT any further, lol.
I'm hoping this turns into a great conversation.

I have read about the Lanciano 'miracle' a couple of years ago. I don't believe it was real and I don't believe such miracles are real unless several tests are done and the results peer reviewed. The tests were done in 1971, more than 40 years ago. The original 'scientific' reports are not available anymore.

Even assuming the flesh was human, it couldn't have been preserved so after being exposed to parasites, the environment, etc. It simply goes against the law of nature.

Here is a very good detailed explanation as to why there was no miracle:arumanchan.blogspot.se...

Vatican doesn´t approve miracles lightly. On past few decades the miracles which have had approval were done by the previous popes and archbishop.
This might be cause of Vatican politics and beautification ( also covering up and taking focus away from serious matters like pedophile priests in catholic church ).
Maybe we will never know what is behind this what you posted, it might be HOAX, atm its only what we hear but no documents of actual lab tests.

Sorry. No disrespect. I was typing on my phone and it acts up sometimes. Miracles of the religious nature intrigue me as well. And I didnt get to finish my thought.
I'll follow this for a while before I comment again. Again all apologies for the miscommunication.

This is the issue... Its always interesting that religious claims always use the words "scientific" study... Yet where are the documents of said study?

Where is the report from this Cardiac specialist that examined this material?

Scientific seems to be a new buzz word to prove religion... yet I see no evidence of science being involved what so ever...

There would be detailed documents... Headlines in news papers or scientific journals...

There is a quote from the movie Signs that I love!

People break down into two groups. When they experience something lucky, group number one sees it as more than luck, more than coincidence. They see it as a sign, evidence, that there is someone up there, watching out for them. Group number two sees it as just pure luck. Just a happy turn of chance. I'm sure the people in group number two are looking at those fourteen lights in a very suspicious way. For them, the situation is a fifty-fifty. Could be bad, could be good. But deep down, they feel that whatever happens, they're on their own. And that fills them with fear. Yeah, there are those people. But there's a whole lot of people in group number one. When they see those fourteen lights, they're looking at a miracle. And deep down, they feel that whatever's going to happen, there will be someone there to help them. And that fills them with hope. See what you have to ask yourself is what kind of person are you? Are you the kind that sees signs, that sees miracles? Or do you believe that people just get lucky? Or, look at the question this way: Is it possible that there are no coincidences?

I am a man of science yet I have seen and witnessed things I cannot explain. I cannot turn to science for valid explanation of my consciousness. It can explain the programing of my brain, but not the divine spark of awareness.

Anyway the movie itself is not about an Alien invasion, that is the surface story for the people don't want to dig deeper. The real story is about loosing faith and finding it with a miracle...

Akragon which group are you?

A hoax, predicated on a basic misunderstanding of Theology, to prey upon those that don't know better.

First, the banning of consumption of blood from Leviticus laws for religious ceremony comes to mind, so hoax, or God decided to suddenly change his mind on the literal consumption of blood.

Wine and bread, is the Eucharistic , done as an outward sign of an inward commitment.

Of course, that is from a Protestants view of it.

ETA:

Faith surgery healers have used fake fingers for years to hide blood and meat in btw.

owlbear....You're fine! Don't go into lurker mode, this could get really good!

Think of the conspiracies that could be had off this!
What if there's proof and it's being hidden?
Either way, I'm interested, lol.

The Vatican has a commission that investigates reported miracles (they have to be "approved" and reported by the local Bishop before the Vatican starts dealing with them,) and they're pretty methodical and careful, knowing that it's a pretty controversial issue, and critics will be quick to jump on them if they approve an obvious hoax.

Here's a list of Unapproved Apparitions of Mary in the 20th Century, for example. A couple of them are rather contentious, because they are believed by a lot of people (like the Bayside apparitions,) but once the Church says "no", it's no.

hahaha true but Mcnuggets are probably made of chemicals and very little chicken!

The problem I have with this 'miracle' (besides not believing in such miracles) is that they are saying that the blood was still fresh and that is biologically impossible.

This Eucharist thing needs a revamp I would install a barbecue plate into the alter and turn the tabernacle into a bar fridge instead of that tasteless host and awful wine you could have bangers and beer

I don't believe in Luck, and coincidence does not exist... everything happens for a reason, but many if not most things are beyond our understanding...

I am a hardcore skeptic when it comes to religion, and so called Miracles... Yet I am also far beyond simple Faith...

I know God is here, and there isn't a shred of doubt in my mind...

Yet I also know there are many out there who will attempt anything to prove their faith to others, including pulling elaborate hoaxes to fool the world...

It is my belief that WE are on our own... God rarely intervenes in human affairs...

The world in all its glory and disgusting atrocities is exactly how its supposed to be... And regardless of your beliefs we all return to him without exception... There is no Hell.... For this place can be heaven or hell depending on what we make it...

This isn't about me though... We're talking about a piece of Human heart appearing in a cracker... that beats like a living heart

Makes no sense... but who knows right?

In 1994 we went to Betania Venezuela. We went to the convent that houses the Eucharistic Miracle that happened in Betania. (There is video footage of the miracle as it happened online and in some videos ). I was able to put my rosary right next to the glass that the Eucharist is behind. So I'd say it was about 1/2 an inch away. There were only 9 of us in the church at the time so I was able to walk right up to it. I got a good look ... the blood patch on the Eucharist was still very pink and looked 'fresh' (for lack of a better word).

THIS is where I was .. and this is what I saw ... minus the movements - www.youtube.com...

The first time the miracle happened was December 8th, 1991.

There is a video that you can get at Catholic gift shops - Betania, Land of Grace.
(we have it).
It shows the eucharistic miracle as it happened at the Mass on Dec 8, 1991.

This is addressed to your replies in the thread: What I think you're missing is that IF this was a legitimate miracle of God, the laws of nature would not necessarily apply. The supernatural nature of God would supersede the laws of nature.
I'm not stating that I believe that this is a miracle (I'm more than a bit doubtful when it comes to things like this); I'm simply addressing your remarks.

I knew you'd be here...

I recall you telling me about this before... and while I trust your word, and what you saw... I would still like to see evidence of this from the scientific community....

Unbiased proof of said miracle would be lovely

Thanks for your reply FF.... Much love
