Ladies and Gents, I present to you Tom Lehrer. Quaintly musical comedy that still resonates to this day. A little bit of socialistism, a little bit of capitalist and a whole crap load of sarcasm. All put to a nice little ditty.

Replying mainly so that I can find this later. It looks interesting. I'll have to watch it at the library since I have limited bandwidth at home out here in the woods.

Thanks, man. I feel that comedy is underrated as an art form. I have never heard of this guy. He's pretty good. My prurient interests are aroused.

I know what you mean. I reminiscing my youthful days and was perusing YT for Dr. Demento and this little gem popped up. Tom Lehrer was always one of my favorites back them.

Poisoning Pigeons in the Park
The Elemental Song
It makes a Fellow proud to be a Soldier

All Classics.

Very impressive....thats one hour of that stuff....I once saw Jay Leno do a 90 minute stand up bit...but this guy is doing both..music and a bit.

The saddest part of all of it is....obviously they were bitching about the same issues back then and 50 years later here we are bitching about the same stuff and we havent changed a thing. Kind of depressing...makes me actually want to stop using the site....I think id rather be ignorant at this point .

"Those who fail to learn from history are bound to repeat it."

I find the best comedians are the ones who tell it like it really is. The ones going for shock value just don't trip my trigger in the amusement zone.

One of my favorite lines came from George Carlin. To paraphrase;

"I'm a professional comedian, unlike those you have to work with everyday. It is my job to remind you to laugh about things that you forgot to laugh at the first time around."

Such classic truth.
