The White House just released their "report" on *Climate Assessment*.

In that report they say sea level could rise 8 inches, 11 inches, 4 feet, or 6.6 feet by the year 2100.

[ glad to see some solid projections with minimal guesswork ]

And all that could happen even without any significant melting of Greenland or Antarctic ice !!!

The National Climate Assessment released today by the White House says that as a result of climate change the sea level could rise 8 inches, 11 inches, 4 feet or 6.6 feet by the year 2100, but that a rise of less than 8 inches or more than 6.6 feet is "considered implausible."

“Scientists are working to narrow the range of sea level rise projections for this century,” said the report.

“Recent projections show that for even the lowest emissions scenarios, thermal expansion of ocean waters and the melting of small mountain glaciers will result in 11 inches of sea level rise by 2100, even without any contribution from the ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica,” it said.

WH Climate Report: Sea Level Could Rise 8 Inches, 11 Inches, 4 Feet, or 6.6 Feet

The time to prepare is NOW !!

Massive economic devastation is looming !!

I wonder if any scientists think that paper money would absorb enough CO2 to help ?

The National Climate Assessment

Dr. John Holdren, President Obama's Science Advisor, introduces the National Climate Assessment and discusses President Obama's climate action plan which takes an all of the above energy approach towards combatting climate change now.

Let's see, 8inches satisfied the republicans, 11 inches for the Democrats, and four feet for the green party. Who is the six foot six for? Maybe basketball players...Obama

With these guys you can count on it dropping 20feet

Oh I wouldn't worry about a few inches or feet for that matter .

Who authored that report? Noah?

Is it a multiple choice quiz?

IDK. Try to change a planets climate, or move things away from the water... decisions decisions.

Based on the real science , I am placing bets that this will
be equal to, or worse than Obamacare in terms
of policy truth and effective outcome.

Anyone know offhand what the price ticket is for
this up and coming "boondoggle" ?

If you like your coastline, you can keep your coastline?

He did promise when he was elected that at that moment the seas would begin to fall. I guess that means we're actually taking votes on how much his new climate policy will cause sea levels to rise.

Here is a map to test the flood levels. Remember the map is in meters: 1 meter = 39 inches.

8 inches to 6.6 ft??? Al Gore was claiming
that with global warming all the glaciers will melt
and the oceans will rise globally 200ft!!

What a shot in the dark!!!!

These guys are nuts, they can stick their gerryrigged hockey stick
right up the old chute .

The only reason Washington is concerned is that no matter the rise, they will be impacted quite negatively. Even if it ends up at 11 inches, they are severely screwed. If Obama and Amerika as a whole are truly concerned, perhaps they should be taking the city apart block by block and moving the capital near Area 51.
Don't know, don't care. I live inland by choice.

I live inland with a Great Dividing Range separating me from the ocean, this does not concern me at all. Good luck with climate change.

And the BIG MEETING today at the White House...with climate "experts" like Al Roker, who has neither a degree in Climitology or Meteorology (SUNY BA Communications 76). Using ole Al (and other useful media types) to "carbon tax" the middle class into oblivion.

I wonder how Al and the other telegenic "experts" arrived at DC? Pony Express?

ANTROPOGENIC Global Warming is junk science at best and a manipulative NWO control medium for the upwardly mobile western world. The breathless "the science is settled" proclamation of Obama is scary...NO science is ever settled, but a populace that believes that it is, is dumb enough to have voted for this idiocy in the first place.

Ok I didn't see anything about policy change. He spoke of being prepared and reading this thing from climate change.gov. I think that would be worth reading - fine print and all. If there is a policy change in the works that includes taxes we all need to write to our reps "before" they put pen to paper. For now, I'm not seeing this.

"If" the day comes to raise taxes we need someone to remind the government that this is not just coming from "Americans" and that if all globally are not on board nothing will change. Therefore, no increased taxes needed. Of course, if the government says so it must be true so perhaps it would be more prudent to bombard the public with that information. Or - it's too far gone and people have given up challenging the decisions made by those who want to break them.

Do you guys think it means the variation of thea tide on the coastlines?

Oh, yes he can. He has a pen and phone, remember? And just because he isn't directly taxing you doesn't mean he can't doing it by making your energy costs "necessarily skyrocket" remember that?

Podesta thinks all he needs is the phone and pen and executive orders.

White House adviser John Podesta told reporters Monday afternoon that Congress could not derail the Obama administration’s efforts to unilaterally enact policies to fight global warming.

Podesta said that the president was committed to using executive orders to pass regulations under the Clean Air Act to limit carbon dioxide emissions that they say cause global warming.

All he needs is that willing bureaucracy, and the EPA is full of true believers. You might as well call them the Church of Global Warming.

Obama has made 2014 his “year of action” — promising to use his executive authority to implement various actions of the president’s agenda that are too divisive for Congress to consider. Podesta was brought into the White House late last year to help Obama find ways to use executive orders to unilaterally push climate policies.

Podesta authored a report in 2010 outlining ways the president could use his executive authority to push a progressive agenda, including unilateral actions on climate policy. Podesta wrote that the president could use executive power to reduce U.S. carbon dioxide emissions by 17 percent by 2020 — the very goal the Obama plans to meet using his executive powers.

Podesta also wrote that the Environmental Protection Agency could “spur the retirement of coal-fired power plants” and replace them with natural gas plants by imposing stricter emissions limits. Last year, the EPA announced limits that would effectively ban coal-fired power plants unless they install costly carbon capture and storage technology — the result of an Obama executive order from last year.

Any bets on how many of those natural gas plants will be ready to come online to replace those coal plants? Given the current dislike of fracking ...
