Apples to oranges. One, police are not defending their house, they are in public. Two, police are provided and trained with non lethal weapons on our dime.

I have an alarm and lots of guns. The alarm lets me know when anything bigger than a cat breaks my property line, cameras to let me know exactly what is coming. If they make it into my house, yeah the guns are putting them down without a second thought.

I have ten children, plus was a foster parent for ten years to over 100 additional children.

Life is hard. Life is even harder when you are stupid.

Some people are crash test dummies. These two criminal teenagers are good examples of crash test dummies for somewhat more intelligent and deserving of remaining in the gene pool non criminal teenagers can learn from.

These two criminal teenagers broke into the same house several times. The home owner said enough is enough, and shot and killed them.

SO, your crystal ball tells you what the persons intent is, that willfully enters your home without permission.

Maybe you can share it with the rest of us.

Mine is broken, so I will assume, that the person that has committed a felony by forcing their way into my house, is there to commit additional forceful acts and will act accordingly, by shooting them.

Don't want people to get shot? Make them not break into homes.

so put your self in the shoes of the two criminals
who broke into the same house several times.

exactly what would you expect to happen
or want to happen,
what does that look like??

would you want the occupant to have
left you both a plate of freshly baked
chocolate chip cookies and a
couple of glasses of cold milk?

what would it look like to you being in
those two criminals shoes and being in the house.

I'm not saying this guy should be charged with murder. But he did murder them and it's sad, that's all I'm gonna say.... Their's a lot of sad stories on here, kids killing kids. Kids dying is sad to me no matter the circumstance.

Was the shooter arrested?

It'll be interesting to follow if they were, what with the same thing happening in Minnesota last thanksgiving and the verdict coming out a few weeks ago of manslaughter, what if this person is found not guilty??

One of the major reasons I'm not a criminal is because I don't want to get shot at and killed.

Am I missing something here?

Actions have consequences. People and criminals need to assume responsibility for their actions.

Same reason I didn't join the military

That's the most coward sentence on this thread..

defending yourself and your family(if you have one) is now considered cowardly ? .. you're just trolling at this point

he did not murder them.

A 14 yo kid is dead and you have belittled people who are
saddened by that. Do you even have that clearly in mind?

this is how the news headline should have read.

a 14 year old criminal and his 17 year old criminal companion
died during the commission of a felony crime.

these criminals broke into an occupied home and were
met with lethal force. they will not have the opportunity
to break into more occupied homes in the future.
the cost of a lengthy trial was spared as the only expense will
be burial costs and repairs on the damage they inflicted on the home.

for those of you who are SADdened by this event then please get away from your keyboards,
shut off the tv, the WII, and go volunteer to be a big brother or sister.
dont let your SAD feelings go to waste by whining about the homeowner defending their
property and person. use the energy in your SAD feelings for something beneficial.
stop being part of the problem and start being part of the solution.
otherwise you are an armchair quarterback.

is that any better randyvs?

What makes you think I couldn't be doing even more than the above
and still comment on ATS? This is the kind of nonsensical assumptions
you've made all thru this thread. It's evident who's trying call the signals
here.

so in this thread we have people who want to sympathize with a home invader lol .. it'd be funny if it wasn't so foolish .. what are all of your thoughts on the actual victim?

I feel bad for her also. Killing two kids breaking into her
home prolly isn't anything she's bragging about.

it'd be funny if it wasn't so foolish

Now I have a question.

What is so foolish?

Where the kids armed? You sound more like you're trolling defending a guy who killed two teens... You sound like cowards when you think you can kill anybody who attempts to rob your house. Everyone has different opinions if i feel bad for the teens that's my problem.

why even mention the bragging part ? .. you're trying to place some kind of self guilt on the victim .. why ? ..

we're not talking about someone taking your phone at your table while you look away ..

if someone breaches your home and security like that with no regard for you or your family, then whatever happens to them is 100% their fault .. invading someone's house is terrorization and you deserve whatever you get quite frankly .. it's not personal ..

it's absolutely foolish to have that lax, sympathetic mindset about someone who breaks into your house, even more if it's in the middle of the night

I have no clue .. and as a resident minding my own business inside my own damn house, I'm not under any obligation to find out .. it's their obligation to not break into my house .. you'll never know until you're dead if they're carrying concealed ..

this isn't just about stealing something from you .. if you've broken into someone's house, you've already become a threat and a potential lethal threat .. if someone is so bold as to do this, then you have no clue what they're capable of .. it's not up to you to interview them to find out .. don't do it if you're so concerned about living

Their not breaking into homes anymore because their dead.
And if they were grown men I wouldn't feel any pity for them
at all. I find no fault with the shooter, how could I? Was she
supposed to ask for I.D. before she shot 'em? Negative. Do I
imagine it doesn't bother her? Negative. Do I see plenty of
ways this could have been avoided? Damn right I do. So again
what is so foolish about having empathy after the fact?

I see what you're saying .. there's nothing wrong with having empathy or sympathy .. but I see some putting actual blame on the victim for 'killing' .. a victim who's been terrorized .. lets remember that fact .. someone invading your house is terrorizing you .. even more if it's in the middle of the night
