Okay.

Please explain to the angry atheist how the Christian Majority in the US is constantly being oppressed and discriminated against.

I have neither represented, nor said that the Christian Majority in the United States is being oppressed or discriminated against. In a separate ATS thread, I reported that Christians Are Being Persecuted in the Middle East, based on an official report issued by the United States Government.

Right, but how do you feel about the idea? I'm fairly sure that you've heard about the War on Christmas, the War on Easter, the idea that Christians are forbidden to pray, deprived of their rights to choose who they want to serve, etc. etc. It's been all over the US news these last few years.

1. Are you familiar with these ideas?

2. Do you agree with them?

3. If so, please explain how the Christian majority is being repressed, etc. etc.

4. If not, would you go on record as saying that the Christian majority you've referred to is, in point of fact, not being threatened, or repressed, or held down, etc. etc. ?

To answer your questions 1 thru 3, and IMO - Christians in The United States are not being repressed. That however, is not to say that there is not an on-going effort by Angry Atheists, likely frustrated that they cannot mislead the majority of Americans towards their misguided ideology, oftentimes attack and criticize the Christian faith, the American-Christians religious beliefs, and the American People's fundamental Right To Freedom of Religion. One just needs to watch news reports over the past several years, or read the vile posts by some (not all) Atheists right here on ATS to see and decide for themselves.

Please stop insulting and belittling atheists. It's getting annoying.

Okay, Christians are not being repressed. That's good. So, no more comments about how Christians are being mistreated somehow because some Americans disagree with their beliefs, or have other religious beliefs which may or may not directly conflict? No more slamming those who hold different faiths or no faith at all? Great!

....

....

.... and we were doing so well there. Dagnabbit. Poopies.

So, atheists (which are defined as people who have a lack of belief in something) are misguided and misleading IDEOLOGUES that attack and criticise others ... because of their beliefs?

What did you just do? Aren't you attacking and criticizing these [*cough**strawpeople**cough*] atheists for doing exactly what you're complaining about?

Do you understand irony? Do you comprehend hypocrisy?

Christians aren't repressed in this country, according to you. Christians are in the majority and it's inevitable that they should be able to impose their will on the minority, according to you.

So, three words spring to mind: GET OVER IT.

If this is the best guy that Atheists have to offer as their spokesperson, it's no wonder there is so misguided much frustration and anger swelling within the atheistic agenda.

Mr. Christopher Hitchens
Long describing himself as a socialist, Hitchens began his break from the established political left after what he called the "tepid reaction" of the Western left to the Rushdie Affair, followed by the left's embrace of Bill Clinton, and the "anti-war" movement's opposition to intervention in Bosnia-Herzegovina—though Hitchens did not leave his position writing for The Nation until, post-9/11, he felt the magazine had arrived at a position "that John Ashcroft is a greater menace than Osama bin Laden."[5] The September 11 attacks "exhilarated" him, bringing into focus "a battle between everything I love and everything I hate,"
A noted critic of religion and an antitheist, he said that a person "could be an atheist and wish that belief in god were correct", but that "an antitheist, a term I'm trying to get into circulation, is someone who is relieved that there's no evidence for such an assertion."

Yet another link between a Socialist and an Atheist. So, we have yet another link between Communism, Socialism, and Atheism.
Any questions?

I have a question. Why are you so unable to see that whilst many left-wingers can be atheists, so can many right-wingers? It's a simple piece of logic. All atheists are not political extremists.

Atheists are free to believe what they want, and so are Christians and other people of faith in Almighty God. Other than Atheists pro-active attempts to brainwash or impose their lack of belief(s) onto the rest of society, I really don't see a problem here. So, Atheists are better off just to Let It Be, would you agree? Because, there will be an answer, so Let it Be.

You seem to have this false impression that all atheists are angry people with an agenda. Can I ask why you think this? Did someone tell you that this is what atheists do? Have you ever seen a massed pack of atheists? Why are you so intent on insulting atheists?

Aha. Then you have come to some false conclusions based on a small sample size for your poll.

Nah, late Hitchens can't represent atheists anymore. He did have some great debates, including one with his brother in college close where I live. He also had great debate regarding Catholic church, 2 hour video follow. I've read his book 'God is not great - How Religion Poisons Everything'. You should really read it, if you like to discuss anything about atheism.

As for who currently represents atheist in usa... check next video on your favorite news channel ...

Another great atheist... again on your favorite channel...

He explains exactly stuff that you are unable to understand...

The same could be said for overzealous Christians wanting to push their religions in everyone's faces all the time.
