The sanctions in a globalised economy can cause problems anywhere:

A federal judge temporarily barred the Pentagon from making new deals with the main supplier of rocket engines used to send U.S. military and intelligence satellites into space, citing the Obama administration's expanded sanctions regime against Russia over Ukraine.

The case was opened by SpaceX, because of the lack of competition in satellite launching business.

United Launch Alliance buys the engines from RC Amross which is also a joint venture between the Russian NPO Energomas and a unit of United Technologies Corp. The RD-180 engines made by RC Amross are the principal engine the US uses to lift US nationa-security satellites into orbit.

Ironically the US military and intelligence satellites reaching space with russian help.

Actually quite funny.

Now watch DOD get some sort of exemption. More of the same typical BS.

So far the sanctions seem to be hurting the US more than they hurt Russia.

Those sanctions are most likely done on purpose, to reduce russias income from their rocket engines and move the production to china instead.

You just wait, within the year you'll read about China's enormous progress in creating rocket engines ... followed of course, by their new ballistic missiles ... but who cares.

That already happened under the Clinton administration.

China's space/rocket program was floundering for decades. China gets caught red handed stealing sensitive missile/rocket technology secrets, Clinton turned a blind eye to it and within a few short years China's space program started making progress by leaps and bounds...

Business above politics, as usual.

MOSCOW, May 5 (RIA Novosti) – The board of directors of Russian oil giant Rosneft has endorsed four projects to explore and develop Arctic oil reservoirs in the Laptev and Chukchi Seas in a joint effort with US-based ExxonMobil, Rosneft said in a statement Monday.

Hmm... interesting. I must have missed this.

Probably totally unrelated, but I remember reading somewhere else that Chinas ZCSB might have had knowledge about the NSA's industrial espionage in German companies (I think it was Siemens)...
Maybe a case of "you don't move, we don't tell on you"???

***Or maybe my tinfoil is just wrapped too tight today...

The Chinese have an efficient system for maintaining poverty for its working class, no matter how much wealth flows into the country in general.
This is the same system that the elite wants, who have their puppets running the US gov. after infiltrating and coopting it to further their own goals.
Countries who try to uplift the living standards of their poor, like Iraq, Libya, and Syria get destroyed by the Beast war machine that the elites now have control of.
Russia under Putin, wanting to benefit their own people rather than a foreign oligarch class, gets put in the cross-hairs for destruction.
Of course the well being of the citizens who support the gov. that runs the war machine is not the concern of these self-appointed elite.
