A very good friend of mine had been taking pictures of his horses when some helicopters passed over and he decided to take a couple pictures. It wasn't until he was going through them later that he saw this picture. I'm sure the easiest answer is the best, but I thought I would post on here if anyone else might want to have some fun with this picture.

I don't have any photo editing experience, so I'm not sure if there is anything that could be used to better evaluate or clean it up when you zoom in. I don't really have many more details to share or speculation to offer, but look forward to any discussion.

That to me looks like a bird, or "blurrd" as some people call them

a reply to: SecretKnowledge I don't disagree that it is likely a bird or a gnat, but still found it interesting and thought this site would be best to have fun with it either way.

What kind of information would you be looking for? I don't know that there's really any level of narrative that will add much to this photo. I can say that he said the helicopters didn't seem to notice this either at the time he was taking the photo - as he didn't think anything was odd prior to looking through the photos.

Four choppers chasing a ufo?

I don't know.
I inverted the colors and this is what I got. Is it normal that there is a square around the ufo?
Or is that the pixels, because I zoomed it up to a 1000 pixels from 300.

I don't think a couple of helicopters could keep up with a true-to-life UFO. They wouldn't have the same maneuverability and speed (according to UFO mythology.) Also, I don't think a UFO capable of great speed and maneuverability would need a helicopter escort!

Could be anything. To me it kind of looks like a fifth copter in the distance turned a bit on its side performing a turn or something.

My guess is that the helicopters are escorting a drone for some reason.
Maybe they're concerned about people with the drone hunting licenses.

Not enough information. You can't say the helicopters are in pursuit of the object based on this photo alone. For one, they aren't even facing the same direction as the other object. For two, even if they were, that doesn't mean that they are maintaining the same course as the object. For three, there no telling what that other object is. To say it is an alien spacecraft is wishful thinking.

It looks shopped to me - the helicopters have their rotors in the same position

A quick look in photoshop shows a rather sloppy cut/paste job on the helicopters and especially the "ufo". This is just a fake, and a pretty bad one at that.

No. They don't.

No. It doesn't. The helicopters aren't even facing the other object. For all you know the helicopters could be completely unaware of the other object. More than one snapshot is required to determine whether or not something is being followed. You don't know the speed or the direction of travel of the other object. Therefore, there is not enough information to determine if the object is being followed.

Who says they're keeping up? A man can't skydive at the same speed as a meteor either, but that didn't prevent a meteor and a skydiver to be recorded by one device over several frames of video.

More photos. Variables like speed and direction of travel of the second object, for start. Multiple angles. These types of information would be helpful in determining what the second object is and if it is even interacting with the helicopters in any way.

It's normal, it's a side-effect of the JPEG compression used on the image.

To know if it's a JPEG artefact, count the number of pixels that make up those squares, if they are multiples of 8 then it's a JPEG artefact, as JPEG works with 8 x 8 pixel blocks.

apparently I wasn't clear in my earlier posts. Not only did my friend not see this apparent object at the time he was taking the photo, but the helicopters DID NOT appear to notice it either. So it is not believed they were in pursuit of it.

The photo is what it is. There's no real "story" behind it to answer your questions. maybe you were saying there isn't enough information to speculate based on just looking at the photo, and you would be correct. But I posted more for people to play with and enhance the photo itself.
