I have never heard of or seen these before but when I ran across the article I figured some of y'all might be interested.
These deer fully grown only weigh about two pounds.

The baby "deer-mouse" became just the 43rd living member of this species in Europewhen it was born on April 9 in the Fuengirola Biopark near Malaga.Originating in southeastern Asia, the deer is so called because its tiny dimensions and big eyes make it look more like a rodent, despite its tiny hooves. At birth the baby — which has not yet been named because it is still too small to determine its sex — weighed about 100 grams (nearly four ounces).

The survival of the species, known by scientists as "tragulus javanicus," is threatened by deforestation in its native southeast Asia, the park said.

I can not get over how small these deer are. It would be ashame to lose them.
(If someone could post a pic or two I would greatly appreciate it. I am on my samsung phone and can't upload pics to ats. Thanks)

Darn, I am going to have to get a smaller deer rifle. The 30-30 or 300 savage will totally destroy that deer, I won't even get a meal for the cat out of it. What a waste, twenty bucks for a deer license and you need to use a bb gun and maybe can get a small pot of soup out of it...

You know, the trick with these would be to take a cat and dress it like Santa Claus, and then put the cat in a sleigh, and then get eight of these little critters harnessed up to pull it.

Might need an arduino for the nose part.

Look on the bright side.
Taxidermy fees would be almost nothing and it wouldn't take up much room on your wall.
Just kidding!

Those would be some tiny back straps. And I thought the Coues Deer we have here in AZ were small.

Sweet fancy Moses!! I want one! I am only teasing. I think it's terrible something like this can be wiped from the face of the planet. I had no clue something like this even existed!! S&F for letting me learn something new today.

Based on their dimensions I'd say they sit at a table and talk it out.
