Brown Mountain... not Brokeback... right? I know how some of you good ol' boys roll... I seen me Deliverance... think I'll stick to reading about it on the interwebs.

But really, it would be interesting if anything happened... though usually when you go looking for the weird, the boringly normal finds you instead... like most other times.

It IS weird about the alleged abductions and other such encounters around those lights... I was of the opinion that although they were 'real,' that they were a natural phenomena... earth lights and the like. With the intelligence they exhibit... well... who knows.

Does anyone have GPS coordinates? I'm going to drive out Fri and Sat night. I'll be looking for gems during the day.

In light of the latest AMA with the producer of the movie, Alien Abduction, I'm gonna head up to Brown Mountain, view the lights, and possibly camp out overnight. Anyone interested in coming and Denying Ignorance with me?

Awesome!!!!

If I'm in the area count me in. If not send pictures.

I think you sparked some peoples interest in the subject there Matty. Good work.

I for one would be very interested in doing a week long camping trip to see what we could film/photograph. Sadly, I'm in the UK, and won't be Stateside for a few months.

Any chance we could organise something for later in the year as well??

I heard about them when I moved here back in 2001, was all about all the paranormal stuff in NC LOL

Damn, I just checked, only 4 hours away from you. If I hadn't already confirmed doing a show this weekend, I'd be there in a heartbeat. I could have brought a load of camp gear for people too....and cooked for everyone....

Everyone, have a great time, and get some pics for those of us stuck at home, and not being able to jump on this grand adventure.

Well, I'm serious! I will be there in the area this weekend. If you have GPS coordinates that would be great. If not, I guess I can dig around and find the exact area. This should add to the excitement for me and my friends weekend trip. PM me with any details.

Yeah too bad Des it would have been great if we would
have had more notice. However now that word is out I
think we will have a big ATS get together in the upcoming future.

I'm tied up with me dogs from end of Sept until mid Nov as that is
my major trialing competition. Summers are slow because it's hot.

I do plan on trying to hook up with someone next time I'm down in the area.
I'm 6 to 7 hrs north in N VA but have family in the area & I am truly looking
forward to an adventure.
I REALLY miss me skywatch in CA, so this experience would be awesome.
We would stay up all night & sleep during the day...better to have a couple of days.

Cheers

How exciting! Just don't go holding a flashlight out towards them or anything! Don't want to see anyone abducted. Stick together and have fun! Can't wait to hear about it when you get back!!!!!

If everyone gives me a good idea on when its good for others to come, we will do a second Brown Mountain Meet, just need a consensus of a time

Hey Homer for me would be July - first 2 wks Aug or
1st 2 wks of Sept (Best).

I think we should be there at least 2 nights hopefully 3

I LOVE camping & being outdoors more than anything!

My friend, NC is an outdoorsman's PARADISE. TONS of fishing, camping and everything else!!!
Found this website about where to view:
See the LIghts

I'm thinking the Blue Ridge Parkway spot is the best view, what do you all think?

I vote September! I would enjoy seeing you and Homer at the same time.

Bring your Collies. Hell, they might be the only survivors.

Bloody Hell TDawg I can't believe you remember my BC's, Good on you Sir!
Yes I would have to bring them...also they have crates in the truck & are
more well behaved than most humans. The 1st part of Sept would be awesome!

My dog trials don't start until mid Sept. & yes it would be great for us to hook up
& Des isn't far away either I think 4 to 6 hrs...I'm 6 to 7 hrs.

Aren't you in Ohio? At 1st I thought you were Atlanta (blind date thread) for
some odd reason. I'm N VA.

Cheers

My season starts this coming weekend, and I'm booked every weekend through the end of October, then have most of Nov off, then I go into my Christmas shows and all of Dec is no time for Des at all LOL

I have loads of camping and fishing gear. If something breaks in my schedule, I'm in.

I would love to do a research/camping gather with other ATSers. For that region we might even get a visit from Big Foot.
