A Malaysian military aircraft did track an unidentified flying object (UFO) in the country’s airspace at the time of MH370 losing contact with the ground control, the Malaysian Prime Minister has finally admitted – six weeks after the passenger jet disappeared.

Last month Malaysia's air force chief, Rodzali Daud, said military radar detected UFO in an area in the northern Malacca Strait at 2:15 a.m. local time on 8th march , 2014 about an hour after the plane vanished from air traffic control screens.

And its not the first time aircraft disappeared into thin air !

They thought they were tracking MH370 itself, they said unidentified object because radar cannot identify objects =) .. they can see that there is something flying in an area at a particular altitude, heading and speed but they can't get detail like what type of craft it is ( 777 or something else ), flight numbers.. etc.. so it could have been MH370 or another aircraft.

This is why a transponder is important.. they report all of the same information but it also includes specifics such as the plane's identification, location, altitude, heading, speed and some general information about the health of the craft.. the problem is the transponders were off so the plane ( assuming it was MH370 ) would appear as just a blip on the radar screen .. or a "UFO" since it can't be unidentified using radar alone.

They said "Unidentified Flying Object" (UFO) !

I've seen the quote .. or heard it on CNN .. but it's a little out of context for the reasons I explained.. it's unidentified because radar isn't capable of doing that.. Radar can spot objects but they need a visual to identify them, that's why if an object flies into restricted space they will scramble jets to get a visual to confirm it's there and to find out what it is ..

Without a transponder, any object in Radar would be "Unidentified" .. "Flying" and an "Object" .. A UFO, but not of the out of this world variety =) ..

Well here is the Huff Post version of the same exact article as on the UFO blog, only its missing something:

A Malaysian military aircraft did track an unidentified flying object (UFO) in the country’s airspace at the time of MH370 losing contact with the ground control, the Malaysian Prime Minister has finally admitted – six weeks after the passenger jet disappeared.

That appears in the blog, while the actual article simply states:

A Malaysian military aircraft did track an unidentified aircraft in the country’s airspace at the time of MH370 losing contact with the ground control, the Malaysian Prime Minister has finally admitted – six weeks after the passenger jet disappeared.

Exactly.. by "unidentified" they literally mean they couldn't identify it because there was no transponder signal that would provide identification ... it very well could have been the missing plane.. I think the twist is the UFO blog is trying to insinuate it was an alien craft.

Barack Obama visits Malaysia with economy and security on agenda

Opening the first visit to Malaysia by a US president in nearly half a century, Barack Obama looked ahead Saturday to economic and security talks with the prime minister, Najib Razak, who leads a south-east Asian nation with an important role in Obama's efforts to forge deeper ties with the region.

Perhaps it was an unresponsive radar target headed towards Chinese airspace

I haven't thought it through I'm just throwing it out there

A Beijing-bound, Islamist-piloted, possibly hijacked flight that lost communication? There's gotta be a page for this scenario in the playbook of China's national security system.

Earlier on Wednesday, Rodzali Daud, the Malaysian air force chief, told a news conference that an aircraft was plotted on military radar at 2:15 a.m., 200 miles northwest of Penang Island off Malaysia's west coast.

But there has been no confirmation that the unidentified plane was Flight MH370, Rodzali said, and Malaysia was sharing the data with international civilian and military authorities, including those from the United States.

Why? Both's track record in reporting accuracy is abysmal. MSM just a bit better.

Anyways here is MSM link for you ..

An unidentified aircraft. Not a UFO.

The blog changed that for hits no doubt.

And as was stated, if the aircraft turned off its transponder it would show up as unidentified because the transponder is what gives the radar screen details about the identity of the plane.

Just because an aircraft is unidentified doesn't mean its a UFO in the sense that most people take that term to mean "alien spacecraft'

smh

The same reason we would shoot an aircraft without a transponder entering our airspace post-9/11.

Russia shot down a Korean Airline Flight just for flying over some islands.
