i was given a rather large 18" monitor from colege but when i got it home ifound out that some bright spark had turned the brightness down and because it has only one large nob that you press to bring up the menu and turn to scrol the menu i cant see the menu to scrol and find the brightness settings.

i have looked in the back and cant find anything wrong with it and i need to know if there is a way of reseting the monitor to the factory sectings?

the monitor:
product no pk-986
proview electronics (taiwan)

Some monitors do have a tiny little hole in the front, that you can use to reset the monitor with. (you will need a needle or stick pin) some however have placed this function on the menu . Was there a monitor inf file that came also on a diskette?

The website states that you need to install one.

The pk986 does not appear to be listed on the site, however there is a section that gives instrcutions on how to install the driver.

If your monitor did not come with a user guide, here is where you would ask for one.

Hope this helps
