Thank you so much for the kind words.
Indy looks just
like a puppy a friend of mine had.
(I hope Indy doesn't have the same leather chewing
fetish that Roman had!)
I am often complimented on the fact that Binary (my puppy) walks off the leash and obeys verbal commands.
Truth is I can't take credit for that.
I adopted him after a friend of mine went through a nasty divorce.
She took two of the kids and left.
He took the other two kids and kept the house.
Neither of them wanted the dog.
I was told if I didn't take him off the wife's hands (a Maltese/Bijon) that he'd be taken to the SPCA.
Naturally I was horrified.
As a result he suffers from severe
separation anxiety and requires little coaxing to remain at my side as he always thinks he'll be left
(I know it sounds
sad but it's really
cute to see him literally dogging my every step if you'll pardon the pun)
Even after all these years I still
have to be careful and mind my step as he's never far away and about the size of a large squirrel.
He's even jealous of the squirrels I feed from the backyard.
He never chases them or barks at them and they know him well enough that they show no fear of the dog when in the backyard eating nuts.
I am fond of commenting, if ever he even looks at a squirrel for too long: "Leave your sister alone..."
The only heartstopping thing he does is that he was raised around big dogs and has no fear of them.
He'll even run straight at a Rottie or Pitbull.
Sure, he only wants to sniff their butts and there's never been an incident as a result...unless you include me almost spontaneously wetting myself
before I see the much
larger dog's tail wagging.
I am always told he is the best dog any of the groomers I go to have ever seen.
They even "argued" playfully over who would trim Binary.
He's better with women than I am and they're not even his species!
(How is this even remotely fair!?!)
As far as I am concerned, my puppy has me
trained just the way he wants me!
Now, if you'll excuse me...I have to go sautee him a non-growth hormone pork chop in extra-virgin coconut oil while I eat Kraft Dinner.
