God's Law; We are discharged from the Law of Moses?

Of course not. Do you think that the people who made up the laws are going to say it came from them ... or that it was "God" talking to them and telling them the law He wanted? There is much more power behind claiming it's straight from God, then admitting that you made the whole thing up.

Case in point - the Ten Commandments -

Paul would agree with you that the essence of the law is loving God, and your neighbour as yourself.
But he would point out that some people are still addicted to the more detailed laws of Moses; how is one to convince them that they are making a mistake, except by giving the reasons why it is a mistake?
