Maybe you should drop the belligerent banter, Mr. Comprehension? When somebody asks a question to make a point, it's called a rhetorical question. See above.

A legitimate question born from a legitimate observation and one that we should perhaps look at, honestly consider and ask ourselves. Thus why he asked the question. What's the problem with that?

You completely miss-characterized the statement of fact that I made as some attempt to justify slavery……..just like I knew some a**hat would do.

Not exactly what I had in mind, but I admit it was an unfair poke, and for that I apologise. Meanwhile...slavery was legal and not all slave owners were evil people...at least not consciously. But...slavery as an institution is evil and any discussion that tries to stick a happy face on it is a major fail. Bundy is a fool for ignoring that. May as well praise the fact that Hitler got the trains running on time.

Here's a quote from the site with the video:

Watch Bundy explain how we need to keep things from going backwards for blacks, and how the Federal government has created a neo-slave class via entitlement dependency that is so bad it is arguably worse than plantation slavery was. It is 100% clear that Cliven Bundy is not saying that blacks should be slaves picking cotton, but that the Federal government has created conditions for them so terrible, that their current situation may actually be worse. (If you are person of low intelligence, the fact that that is his point might be too hard for you to understand.) And he’s not blaming blacks for the issues of abortions, and crime and broken families, he’s blaming the Feds. This is the exact opposite of a racist, this is an advocate for the welfare and best interests of blacks. And just as importantly, you’ll at the end of the video he gives passionate praise and defense of hispanic illegal aliens, lauding them for “better family structures than most white peoples’” Racist? Why is he praising Mexicans as better than whites, if he’s some sort of white supremacist racist?. Take a hike all you lying, character-assassinating ##%$&@

Seem pretty accurate.

Seriously people, listen to the entire video and clear the wax out of your ears or we're never going to get beyond this and the MSM will win again...

Seems to me that you're an apologist for a man who is clearly so out of touch with reality that he doesn't see the hypocrisy in obtaining, by theft, illegal government subsidies, while simultaneously using his moment in the spotlight to promulgate his ridiculous assertion that social welfare programs are a form of government subsidy constituting a freedom-robbing "virtual slavery" comparable to actual slavery.

For me, this is just the icing on the proverbial cake. What's really significant is that he's been stealing from the public to subsidize his private enterprise and that he's used dubious, unsubstantiated and frankly, irrelevant claims in conjunction with his inconsequential views of the U.S. Government to incite a bunch of self-styled revolutionary protectors of freedom to the brink of a potential massacre. To what end? So that he can use threats of violence and public spectacle to pervert the fair application of the rule of law to obtain even MORE differential treatment?

In reality, he's far removed from the vision of the every man hero that reactionary wingnuts blindly choose to believe, owing only to the fact that he and his supporters have guns and are blabbering some anti-federal government nonsense.

The internet is the worlds coolest book.

Even they knew they only got some things right that's why they allowed for amendments. We as a society have basically always improved. There were no good old days.

You guys make me sad. Empathy has been either bred out of humans, or the internet has beaten it out of most. I thought around here with all the "deny ignorance" stuff people would listen to what Mr. Bundy was trying to say instead of what you want to read into it. Not everyone is a trained public speaker, I can agree that Mr. Bundy's choice of words wasn't the greatest, but if you look at the entire statement, you can understand what he's trying to get across. Maybe you have to know where a guy like him is coming from, and I'm in a unique situation living right in between the urban city and the rural country, so I sort of see both sides, but I had no problem picking up on what he was putting down.

Did you even watch the full version.

The only difference was him saying he loves his black brothers before saying they were better off as slaves. Y'all are nucking futz!

" In the riots, I saw civil disobedience. People weren't happy because they didn't feel they had their freedom. Because they DIDNT have them. We've made progress since then and we don't want to go back. We don't want black people to go back or Mexican people to go back to that point. We can make a difference right now by taking care of our bureaucracies in a peaceful way. In government subsidized housing, the blacks I saw looked miserable, they had nothing to do, and very little opportunity to lift themselves out of poverty. The government throws their young men in prisons because in the governments eyes they didn't learn 'how to pick cotton'."

--------------BREAK----------

Notice how he's commenting on the governments racist treatments of minorities.

------------CONTINUE ----------

".....so I often wandered (in a sarcastic yet bewildered tone)were they better off then or now?"

--------------BREAK--------
Further suggesting that the government treats poor inner city minorities worse than they were treated in the days of slavery..in HIS opinion.

-------CONTINUE-------

".....they didn't get more freedom, they got LESS, less family life, and they're unhappy. Let me tell you about illegal Mexican immigrants. I work with them and they're GOOD people. Don't tell me they don't work, don't tell me they don't pay taxes and don't tell me they don't have better family structures than most of us white people. When you see their families, they are TOGETHER, they spend their time TOGETHER and in MY opinion, they're NICE people and we NEED to have those people with us and be with us.

I truly hope you received an Applause from the moderators for your post.

If you read what he said and THINK you will notice he is slamming the government not minorities .

If you people cant open your eyes ,read comprehend and think for yours self . Just let some political party tells you what to think thank them for telling you how to think.

Oh wait that's what your doing never mind arguing or discussing someone already told you how to think.

It seems something more is going here with this piece of land...it just hasn't surfaced yet.
Also, I seen on the news today: a black man who worked for Bundy was interviewed and he said Bundy treated him like family.

This hypocrite should just keep his mouth shut, he gets subsidies, he runs a farm posing as though he is rich and hard working yes he has leftovers from YOURS and MY tax dollars after those farm subsidies (benefitting from socialism so he is equal to any welfare recipient) to do as he wishes after he probably pays some illegal immigrant 3 dollars a day , buy guns, buy pick up trucks, go riding the streets of Las Vegas passing judgement on other subsidy collectors, it doesn't matter if he is racist or not, this man is a complete idiot, there is nothing coherent or true about any of his stereotypical views on others, who made him a judge ? or anyone like him that so easily puts others into boxes and then makes such radical and preposterous claims, then makes it even worse with his later comments, easy prey for the press I do not see any huge errors in the reporting about this stupid idiot.
Watch after this the FEDS will find a way to sack this fool, and I will not have one ounce of sympathy.

This man is African American here is what he says .

He knows Bundy

You people dont. I think he should know better since NONE of us has met Bundy.

www.realclearpolitics.com...

CNN REPORTER: Not offensive?
BULLOCK: Because Mr. Bundy is not a racist. Ever since I've been here he's treated me with nothing but hospitality. He's pretty much treated me like his own family. ###

BULLOCK: I would take a bullet for that man, if need be. I look up to him just like I do my own grandfather.

I see what he meant and that he was making an indictment of our welfare issues here in the US, however, it is also apparent that he has no idea how bad slavery really was. and it's also apparent that he is very, very ignorant in many ways, such as singling out black people on welfare when it's almost equally as many Caucasians on welfare. Why single out a minority? Very ignorant and he doesn't deserve empathy for that statement, he deserves to be demonized for it. This kind of thinking needs to die out.

If you want empathy for him, then he should get it for having to deal with the BLM thugs who would rather beat down old women, taser unarmened men, sick dogs on pregnant women and kill for a moments notice. But not for his lunatic thoughts on slavery.

Reminds me of when Paula Dean paraded her house negro around to show she didn't have any kind of prejudice.

Heh, this guy should have remained silent rather than talk and let people know your an idiot. How well did those "cotton pickin" skills help the blacks during slavery, since, you know, black people revolted against their owners.

Still had a family unit, ha! His knowledge about the condition of slaves and slavery is seriously lacking. But hey, thats the ridiculous generation that faught tooth and nail against desegregation, so I know he's dumb as the brightest of them.

America, hyprocrisy starts here.

I didn't have to go searching anywhere. Support for Bundy from the Black Community is all over the net...

Black Marine says Clive Bundy is NOT a racist

Charlie Delta with Bundy

Below is what a black Marine has to say about the Clive Bundy comment.

Charlie Delta
The media distorts information to the point of social division. This is a photo of myself and the resilient, often charismatic, and maybe not so tactful Cliven Bundy. He’s a cowboy and a helluva family man, not an orator. One thing he definitely isn’t – a racist. I found his comments to not only be NOT racist, but his own view of his experiences. Who the heck are we to determine another man’s perspective on the world around him?! Just because Picasso’s view of the world was abstract, does it negate the fact that his art was genuine? Furthermore, if you take the time to do your own research, you’ll find that his statements about some black Americans actually hold weight. He posed a hypothetical question. He said, “I wonder IF” … Hell, I’m black and I often wonder about the same about the decline of the black family. Bottom line is that we are all slaves in this waning republic, no matter our skin color. Mr. Bundy could have used any racial demographic as an example: Native Americans on reservations, whites in trailer parks, etc. He noticed the crippling effects of receiving government “assistance” and the long term result of accepting handouts. It’s not progress at all. I challenge Sean Hannity, Rand Paul, and others to read my comment and reconsider their position in this matter. Individual liberties are at stake here, yours and mine. THAT is the issue. Don’t let the liberal media and ignoramuses like Glenn Beck and that weasel Harry Reid make you lose sight of the real issue here: The federal government is a burgeoning behemoth and a bully on a once constitutional playground.I sincerely hope you real patriots out there who can see through the smoke.

Semper Fidelis
