The commission investigating Beslan school attack in Russia, has suggested that there is evidence that a foreign intelligence service was involved. Describing the assistance as indirect, the head of the commission Alexander Torshin, indicated that it was premature to name the agency. The September attacks on the school left 330 people dead and scores injured.

story.news.yahoo.com[/url ]
MOSCOW (AP) - The head of a parliamentary commission investigating the September massacre at a school in southern Russia said there is evidence of involvement by a foreign intelligence agency, Interfax news agency reported Saturday.

The statement was the latest of several in which Russian officials and politicians have alleged foreigners were involved in the Sept. 1-3 attack on a school in the southern town Beslan, which ended in bloody chaos and left more than 330 people dead, many of them children.

"For the moment, the evidence that we have of this involvement is indirect, so I consider it premature to name exactly which special service it is," Interfax quoted commission head Alexander Torshin saying.

Russians refer to intelligence and security agencies as special services.

Torshin, deputy speaker of the Federation Council, Russia's upper house, said: "When we gather enough convincing evidence, we won't hide it."

Russian President Vladimir Putin has come under international criticism for his consolidation of power following the episode. He has claimed that that such action is necessary to fight terrorism. Russian lawmakers have been grumbling that the West is encouraging terrorism and applying a double standard to them. The foreign agency involved is intriguing to say the least. I wonder how these accusations fit in to this picture. Is the data being mined to achieve a specific outcome?

I don't understand... they didn't say where the intelligence came from, but they are willing to say that someone had a hand in helping the Rebels???

Is CZAR PUTIN going to start pointing a finger at america like the rest of the world....first Ukraine, now this.

These Russians are out of control, somebody wake up Reagan.

The march of the Gog-Magog War has begun (again).

So Putin if you are reading this...BITE ME! Once we are done with Iraq,

It wouldn't be too surprising if he did point fingers at the US.
Right after the attack he started blasting the US for their support of Chechen Separatists.

I think that we may be a target. However, not directly. Look for them to implicate a smaller country that the U.S. supports or a country they have eyes on like one of the former USSR countires. Alot of former Republics are eyeing US oil companies for development rights and Russia is still very wary of NATO expansion as well.

Well, if Putin/Russians have evidence that, for example, CIA have been involved etc. then yes, they have the right to defend themselves by attacking anybody responsible, even US. Isn't this just what US is doing thesedays also??!! You play, you pay.

Hmmm very quick to point the finger at the U.S. China on the other hand has a great need for oil and may also be eyeing the region for future energy needs. I have to look at Chechnaya oil reserves to be sure, but this is also in the real of China's intell services as well.

Well, CIA has a bit of a reputation of doing thesekinds of things...Not saying that it was CIA/US helping but surely first one that came into my mind but why would they help the Chechen insurgents?

I thought it was a proven fact that the US did aid the Rebels pre to this terrorist attack

However i DONT think that ALL the chez "rebels" are to blame

I think it was a sadistic faction of them (or just some "rebels/terrorists" who had the intention of causing even more problems such as a splinter cell)

However i have heard that Muslim terrorists were involved inside the school as well as chez rebels (Al-Quieda maby?)

if this is true i think it will only be a small faction whos goals are compleatly different in their way of fighting from other chez rebels

If i saw myself as a freedom fighter, fighting for my people and land (if i saw it that way meaning the people/land) i would never allow anyone in my faction/group to assault children or intentionally attack cetrain public buildings knowing that people in them who are not my current enemy) regardless of whos "bloodline/culture ect" they are from

I dont think Russia will place all the blame on the U.S i think that Russia is mainly pointing the fingers at the Middle East (i heard)

If the CIA assisted, should Russia bomb the USA and put Americans into prison camps?

Not that I would ever want that but this thought is somehow funny.

I doub that. I feel strongly that Russia is using this attack (Make that Putin) as an excuse to consolidate power and rollback freedoms. Ill betch 1000 points that the finger is poitned at a "stan" country with decent oil reserves and Russia will go in and install a puppet government.

Hey does this sound familiar to anybody?

Come on, the same guys responsible for 911, the same guys responsible for most "terror attacks" around the world and then blame it on Muslims, Palestinians, etc. Israeli intelligence agency known as Mossad has been very busy. And they have worked very closely with CIA and the Pakistani intelligence agency, among others. Terrorism is a mirage, a myth, an illusion promoted by your beloved governments to scare the crap out of you and have your support to do whatever they want. And they create this illusion by creating fake terrorist attacks around the world and blaming it on whomever they see fit.

If unsure, ask: "Who Benefits?".

maybe they are trying to cover up the fact that the rebels involved were trained and armed by the Russians themselves?

this would be very embarrassing to the Russian government if it became world knowledge.

Just my thoughts..........

Our old enemies from the Kremlin and some other communist/socialist countries benefits lilblam. The plan that the Kremlim had prepared for half a century is working almost perfectly....helping terrorist sponsor countries against the U.S....making the world think that communism was dead and the old ways of communism were gone.....alieniating the U.S. against our allies by making sure we will have to act against such attacks as 9/11....then telling us "hey Saddam is preparing to attack you with more terrorist attacks"......which they helped set up most probably, then giving all sorts of banned weapons to Saddam and then helping Saddam and those loyals to him get rid or hid the wmd to make the U.S. look like a fool... Who would believe the Russians were involved if they warned us huh?....and who would believe this plan if communism is dead in the former U.S.S.R....?

It might sound impossible, but it is not...the Kremlin, with the help of other countries that also wanted, and still want, the downfall of the U.S. are the ones who benefit from all of this.

More and more we will see this plan taking shape, and when people will least expect it, the Russian government will show their true colors.

EXCELLENT theory BE!!!! had not thought about that angle at all. Anything is in the realm of possiblility and what if these are carefully arranged leaks and disinfo to conceal this? No one knows for sure except the committie thats investigating. Betch the head is a Putin cronie!

I can partly agree with lilblam, saying that it was Mossad operations. I also remember that the U.S.A and/or the U.K are harbouring Chechen Terrorists within the Countries.

I think that they will say the CIA was involved.

When in doubt, blame the Jews. I mean it has worked for over two thousand years after all.

So tell me how exactly Israel benefits from killing hundreds of Russian school children? I'm waiting.....

Oh, that's right--they don't. While we're at it, tell me how Israel has benefited from anything since Bush took office other than his indifference to dealing with Palestinian terrorists and making Israel agree to peace talks? Sharon is pulling out of Gaza (which had a large Jewish population while the Ottomans ruled the region) and has threatened to throw the 8,000 or so people living there into prison camps (whole families) if they resist. Nevermind these people have lived in Gaza over 30 years (or longer than Arafat has lived in area) and are basically a bunch of religious farmers (and not religious nutters for the most part). There has been talk of pulling out of Golan Heights. There will be pull outs from Samaria and Judea. Sharon is willing to meet with Abbas. Oh, and let us not forget the thousands of casualties that Israel has suffered from terrorists over the last 4 or 5 years. Israel's economy, especially the tourist sector, is in the tank. So Israel is withdrawing from territory, throwing its own citizens into camps, suffered thousands of casualties and has a faltering economy. And Israel benefits from killing Russian school children how? It is so convienient to pull out the Mossad bogeyman and play into everyone's delusional anti-semetic fanatasies. The problem is that Israel is giving up land and money during this process (and long-term security). It is not like Israel has regained land in the Sinai (which no other country in the world would have given up) which would bolster both their tourism (the Sinai has lovely beach resorts) and give Israel some oil. It is not like Israel has gained any security recently--Iraq has not helped them, either in economic terms, nor in security terms (Iraq was never a significant threat seeing as they could not muster more than a handful of poorly aimed and armed SCUDS). Iran and Syria have continued to build up their arsenals (which actually contain WMDs, verifiable WMDs) and fund terrorists that attack Israel (and everyone else for that matter). Nothing has gone well for Israel in a long-time. What, attacking Russian kids has allowed Israel to fence itself in behind a giant wall so the whole country becomes a giant Jewish ghetto? And don't give me any nonsense about all the aid Israel gets. Like Egypt and Turkey don't get tons of hand out money from the US as well. Its all a racket as most of that money is used to procure US weapons systems. The whole middle east game is welfare for US arms manufacturers.

So go ahead, hate Jews. But please attempt to be honest and logical about it. Mossad is not in the business of murdering hundreds of Russian school kids. Hell, they botched assasinations of single targets in recent years. They can't do a simple hit in Jordan, but now they can suddenly pull off 9/11 and massacre hundreds of kids in Russia. Yeah. Makes for good Aryan fiction there.

He accused the Mossad as possible assistant, he didn't accuse "Jews" at all.

Honestly, I am very angry about your post. It's the cheapest kind of answer you can give on an internet forum if it's about criticising/mentioning anything about the country Israel, it's government, it's services, it's military and every other stuff.
Pulling posts into the mud by accusing them of being of anti-semitic origin - shame on you!

"So go ahead, hate Jews"...that's so..argh!
- you are dismissed from discussion
