Don't drink the kool-aid, young people. Watch Cliven's words from his own mouth. Talk like this has no place in today's society. Period. Cliven sabotaged his own effort and with it killed the hopes and dreams of some anti-government people who will have to find someone else's cause to rally around. I used to support Bundy until talk like this. Despicable. No forgiveness for age here. The Civil War happened long before he was born. Now he want's to lump all black people into "cotton pickers" on "subsidy" "sitting on the porch". If it was a joke, well, maybe you could excuse talk like that.
Judge for yourself but at least watch and listen to him in his own words.
Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid apologized on Saturday for saying the race of Barack Obama – whom he described as a "light skinned" African-American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one" – would help rather than hurt his eventual presidential bid.

Regardless of his personal beliefs and opinions, it is absolutely inexcusable for the government to send an army of 200 to 300 men to "collect fees" and impound cattle.
This is nothing more than a red herring.

That's funny, because if I'm not mistaken, George Washington personally led a militia of some 13,000 to quell the Whiskey Rebellion in 1794 which was a tax protest led by farmers who didn't want to pay the tax on whiskey they were producing with leftover grains.
I guess our "founding father" just knew how to do it better. Oh yeah, did I mention that he was white?
Go figure.

Had it been my choice, I would have surrounded the federal land in question with national guard troops to insure that crazy assed "patriots" didn't interfere while federal agents rounded up all of Bundy's cattle, to be sold to the highest bidder at the earliest opportunity. Once that was done, I'd issue a lien against his ranch for any unpaid balance.
That would have been my choice.

Holy cow nice non partisan thread there buddy, your messiah is getting taken down a few notches, the left is only using the mud you guys started throwing in the first place.
The left is as bad, you guys create false heroes then get all heart broken when those heroes might be just normal people, that might have done or said something that can be considered offensive.
But thats no fun, keep up the blame game, i personnaly love it.

Quote by Harry Reid on the election of Obama!
Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid apologized on Saturday for saying the race of Barack Obama – whom he described as a "light skinned" African-American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one" – would help rather than hurt his eventual presidential bid.

Did you ever think to consider that those of the older generation grew up in a different world than we did?
Or is screaming "RACIST" the in thing when it comes to being "TRENDY"?
Your lack of knowledge shows......
Many of the REAL Black Leaders have been saying the same thing! I guess it is only racist when said by a white man?
Harry Reid, the Democrat Senate Majority Leader and the national government's highest-ranking Mormon, has admitted now remarking apparently with some amazement on the nation's highest-ranking black Democrat as being notably "light-skinned" and having "no Negro dialect unless he wanted to have one."
Only days before he will nominate Barack Obama for re-election, a new report claims that in 2008, former President Bill Clinton said of him: “A few years ago, this guy would have been carrying our bags.”
Clinton allegedly made the racially insensitive remark to Sen. Ted Kennedy as he tried to convince the liberal lion to endorse his wife, Hillary, Obama’s rival for the Democratic nomination, according to The New Yorker.
