It's not the doctors or nurses running our healthcare system... it's the insurance companies! In this exclusive #OffTheGrid clip, Jesse Ventura gets to the bottom of why some hospitals and cancer centers are turning away Obamacare patients. Who do you think runs your healthcare? What are your biggest issues with healthcare in this country? How about any viable solutions?

The US might have had a serious dialog on what is working in other countries instead of the simple corporate predation.

But the US is literally owned by corporations, so that won't happen.

democratic integrity might work
if the people who voted for what ever health care
then went to the back of the line to get the same health care
after the people they serve...

by the way the cancer health care operators that won't help obam care patients who have cancer is an evolution of retail
its called the inconvenience store

Here in The Netherlands we pay at about 120 euro's a month for Healthcare insurrance. This money goes to the inssurance companies. We dutch citizens are obliged to have healthcare insurrance. This huge amount of euro's doesn't cover all of the care you may need.

Certain dentist procedures need extra insurrance and talks are underway in which they decide in what hospital you will be taken care of. These insurrance companies also can decide what medicine is best for you....most likely the most cheap one they can get.

To put it in simple words,...If you can start a healthcare insurrance company you have a golden ticket in your hands.

Yup !!

Looks like the politicians who debated and passed and signed-off the PPACA were all bought off.

We have been hoodwinked methinks.

Let's vote them out.

Vote out every single one of them that voted in favor of the PPACA.

Insurance companies and "big pharma" run the healthcare system.

Keep people sick and it'll keep money in the pockets of insurance companies.

This is not a surprise and never was, Obamacare just cemented the power of the corporate insurance companies, they have always been in charge of the healthcare in the nation with their prices.

Now the biggest monopoly in history in the nation is unfolding and they will have access to every personal information by law of every individual when it comes to health.

It was foretold that once Obamacare was enforced the big insurance houses will eat up the small ones taking control of everything.

Ever since I got screwed over by insurance companies with my vehicle a couple of years ago, I knew they ruled the world. And the big insurance companies force the smaller independent ones to compete, which causes even more legalized theft.

I always thought of insurance companies as part of a vicious triangle, for example, auto makers, oil companies, and insurance, all need one another to function. People getting sick / dying, insurance and pharma companies all need one another to function. And people almost NEED insurance to either not die or live a healthy life style, or not get screwed with hefty fines and repair bills, you are almost forced to get insurance, it's literally legalized theft.

That won't work either.

They will just buy 'em off under the table.

At least now we can see much of the corruption.

The US has the highest per capita costs for healthcare. Insurance companies are the reason. Simple as that.

Its quite clear that the doctors and nurses need to provide the healthcare.

Its all the industry middlemen, the profiteering (and refusing to address the mind body connection) in health that has created such a dysfunctional " healthcare" system. The big insurance, big pharma corporations have conditioned the minds of most doctors and nurses to believe them and forget their roles.
You will see the govt changing the role of drs to that of the insurance corps= to deny healthcare. If you want an example in NZ the Accident compensation corporation(ACC) this has installed [illegal] mandatory accident health insurance and they now routinely deny healthcare and medical treatment.( If you get to Court the corporation pays the Judges so forget about the insurance corporations following the law.)
Vulnerable people with chronic health conditions are being killed and are denied medical care.
Keep fighting obismalcare - easier now than before denying healthcare becomes normalized and entrenched in the minds of healthcare providers.

I just dont get the logic of insurance. The only thing insurance can ensure is that you will lose your money. Who said a doctors visit has to cost an arm and a leg? Why are prescription drugs so high cost? The fact that healthcare is so expensive in this country is indicative of a supply and demand issue. Supply and demand keeps prices low and competative. A third party payor system ensures that supply and demand will be disfunctional.

We dont need to regulate the 3rd party payor system, we need to dismantle and illegalize it. Insurance companies are not medical professionals, so what are they doing requesting prior authorizations, step therapy or alternative treatments. The third parties are responsible for the high cost of medical attention and drug costs.

This applys to all insurance, not just medical. Why pay an organization for something that might happen when you can save the money yourself for a rainy day? Its cheaper that way.

Obamacare was devised by insurance and pharmaceutical companies from the start.I work for an agency that writes white papers and other materials for healthcare organizations, and there's no doubt that Obamacare was intended to put millions (approx. 36 million) new enrollees in commercial healthcare plans that they are mandated to pay for. That is a huge windfall for healthcare companies, no matter how you slice it.

Unlike the Canadian system, which sets limits to prices for pharmaceuticals, U.S. allows Big Pharma to charge American citizens ultra-high prices for drugs under Obamacare.

If Bush were doing this, everybody would be screaming to destroy him and his horrible policy.

With Obama, anyone who questions him and his awful healthcare program are labeled racists.

That's not progressive. That's just plain disgusting on every level.

Exactly....you hit the nail on its head!!!

Never have I seen more ads for medicines, than there are now on TV
Which in turn are there because of some symptom, that many people think that they may have
--Power of Suggestion--

Drill it in their head over and over and before you know it, the person is on their way to see the doctor
Insurance plus medicines = $$$$$$$$
