So, we had a minor fender bender two months ago.

At fault, snow, wife and I going down the block.

15 mile an hour bump to rear fender of a truck.

Almost no damage ETC.

So Now months later, Ins calls, people putting injury claim for 5 people...

There where Two at the Scene, not 5, and THEY refused calling the police...

I took pics, of the scratch to his bumper.

Ins is going to pay them, just waiting for a dollar amount...

WTF!?!?!?!?!?!

Seriously, is that what passes for society, lie, get paid.

Probably should be a rant, just venting I guess.

ETA:

I got three witnesses to their supposed five, INS is acting like yea this happens, we just pay if its under a certain amount.

They might have an idea of how insurance companies work. I've had my insurer settle a case not because they couldn't win. It was cheaper though and if they lost, no one wanted to pay 100k so, they settled for 10k. Hope it doesn't happen to you.

Bummer, I had a fender bender a few years ago. Rainy, a guy on a motorcycle got whacked at the intersection, everyone mashed their brakes. It happens.

Neither of us was hurt, we waved the cops off so they could help the guys on the bike. Hell you might even say my experience was down right pleasant.

Too bad you got scum bags.

It won't help, Benrl. The game is rigged.
It would cost your insurance company more money to prove their dishonesty than what they will get from the claim.

In the future, ALWAYS insist on a police report for your own protection.....

Yeah,

I wondered why they didn't wan't a police report for their insurance...

It was so minor I didn't think twice of waving it off.

I guess people are desperate, but damn thats dishonest, INS has no interest in fighting it.

I asked if we could go to court and testify about the two people.

They said wouldn't even go that far, once they get a dollar amount they will just make sure its reasonable for "soft tissue damage"...

How much is it going to add to your monthly bill is the real question. That's what would tick me off.

I already talked to them, its about a third more a year now with it, it will count as the same claim apparently as the intial accident.

My guess would be that their insurance wasn't up to date....
Or maybe they were afraid a responding officer might suspect substance abuse...
Or they didn't have a valid license...
Maybe all of the above!

OR a bench warrant on one of them!

Guess why insurance is so expensive these days.

Next time call the cops and get an accident report filled out.

This beats the scammers at their own game.

Dude, I would have denied it. No police report, sorry you didn't get in an accident with me. If that sounds like a shyster then I'm sorry, they shouldn't be lying about how many people were involved.
They probably didn't have a drivers license and or had a warrant for their arrest, that's why they didn't want the cops coming.

Nugget beat me to it. I bet they had a warrant.

It's still there. You screwed up your quotes is all. You didn't match your beginning and end quotes properly. If it's only been a few minutes you can edit it. If not, oh, well.....

It is disgusting. Can you talk to insurance co. and just have them deny any claim? Force their hand into hiring a lawyer to take a case with no police report. May be better than stooping to their level and lying.

Was it a truck with 5 seat belts? and are seat belts required in your state?

DO IT! Then send copies to ins. company and police for them filing a false claim.

I hate people who pull crap like this. It makes rates go up for all of us. It's this prevalent social mentality of sue your way to riches. That's why the TV is loaded with whambulance chaser adds.
