I don't think they grow here (I'm in northeastern Kansas). It's mostly in the northeastern US ...New England area.

around here we have Japanese Honeysuckle as the invasive (but harmless to people) species...
And kudzu and prickly green-briar (ouch! Those little thorns HURT).

Where are you? Hannibal-ish?

St. Louis area.

We have the Japanese Honeysuckle here too--actually some even in a decades old concrete "ash-box" type thing in the backyard (from when these older houses used to use coal for heating.)

I kind of like it -- it's contained in the 3 1/2 foot high square and smells good.

Thankfully Im not allergic to poison Ivy... unfortunately it has always made ME the one who deals with the brush and weed clean ups. LOL!

Hm... burns and nasty reactions huh? I just found my new favorite plant to plant along the border with an annoying neighbor of mine. MUHAHA!

There's look-a-like plants also. And they're harmless.

I don't know if they grow as large, I had the lookalike at my previous house. Lots of it.
I have no idea what the lookalike is called.

Best just to not touch anything that looks like it

I was thinking of Cicuta maculata myself, but they're far from harmless. In fact, they're one of North America's most toxic plants.
