I think you meant so a left wing liberal teacher spouts off in class, upsets a student who does not agree with his point of view, and turns the info over to a right wing website.

Does this Type of Ranting by a Professor have any place in our nation's Universities and College classrooms?

Absolutely yes! Students should be exposed to the truth.

The truth is based on facts, not left wing opinions.

Secondly it should be allowed if the students can engage in the same asshatery back towards the teacher spouting the crap.

that would be because they are opinions and not facts.

Buy by all means demonstrate how every single republican is a racist , misogynist or money grubbing. I ask because he made the comment yet offered nothing to support his opinion when he applied it to every single republican.

Maybe Al Sharpton and the other race baiters can help him with his claims.

Then again if race relations in this country improved then what would Democrats run on? What would happen to Al Sharpton or Jessie Jackson? Without race as an issue the Democrats wouldn't be able to distract voters with their vitriolic and divisive language towards anyone who doesn't agree with them.

The democrats would not be able to hide behind the race card, like Obama and Holder do, when they decide they don't want to be held accountable for their incompetent job performance.

Why take responsibility when all they need to do is get MSNBC on everyone by saying racist over and over while they ignore piss poor job performance.

So, colleges are left-leaning, except for the right-leaning ones?

The rhetoric for as long as I can remember is that there was a "leftist takeover" of colleges and universities. It's used to support the ignorance perpetuating notion that common folks should ignore the "academic elites" or "educational elites" and scientists who aren't on the payroll of a well funded conservative think tank.

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) set off a firestorm this week when he declared "educational elite" have taken over colleges

Again, such a fear is often scoffed at by the leftist academic elite, but it is a very real and very dangerous perception. Dr. Haidt notes the danger

We often focus on the ideological biases of the university, where the more lunatic examples of political correctness get the most attention. But in education as in economics, there is a trickle-down effect. The grandees at the elite universities train the PhD’s who go on to second and third tier institutions, where they in turn train the students who get high school and grade school teaching credentials.

The less sophisticated conservatives believe the "leftist take over" took place in the 1960's because of course, that was the peak of all this "hippie commie" sh*t like the civil rights movement. Hardcore conservatives trace it back much further and this quote from an article in The Blaze really sums it up:

The story begins with the takeover of our university system—not in the 1960s but a full century before that. To make a long story short, in the early 1800s, American colleges were defined by Christianity, and in fact, most were defined denominationally. But America had no graduate schools, and therefore those desiring to move up the academic rung had to travel to Europe to earn a Ph.D.

But Europe’s universities, especially those in Germany which were by far the most prestigious, were already given over to radical Enlightenment thought that defined secular liberalism. To be educated at the highest level—and the highest level was defined by these German universities—meant to be liberal.

I can hardly disagree. It's no coincidence that the Enlightenment (which actually started in the late 1600s) should be viewed as a bad thing by some conservatives because of course, it's the point in human history where religion stopped being the exclusive source of information from which people based their beliefs and constructed their world views. The Enlightenment ultimately lead to Progressivism, the idea that society can improve human condition through the application of knowledge garnered by the sciences.

After the collapse of the Roman Empire, progress effectively stopped in western civilization and there was a thousand years of languishing in the Dark Ages presided over by the Church. Hundreds of years later we still have morons in Texas who want Creationism in text books.

The Democrats have won the LGBT and the Women vote because Republicans have been waging war against them for the past decade.

Not to mention that most people under 30 think Republicans are a bunch of right wing idiots. In fact anyone that is not inside the echo chamber thinks so as well.

Have you seen MSNBC's ratings? they are plummeting.

Republicans don't need any help in making themselves look bad, they do a damn good job of making themselves look bad already.

Not defending the professor but he had some good points there...

Just based on the Republican pundits, talking heads and party leaders....we have There are exceptions of course...like offensive? Bill Maher ..check...Harry Reid...money grubber check.. etc but...

Koch brothers...money grubbing? Check
Ignorant...most climate deniers are republican....check
misogynists ...oh that's more republicans than anything....check.
Racist...check some of Paul Ryan's recent quotes...yeah...check.

As far as normal people you might meet on the street...it's not this way.. it's the talking heads in the media and the politicians and the large donors and party leaders that perpetuate the stereotypes this professor was going on about. Of course two wrongs don't make a right but ..

1883: What part has Skull & Bones played in our elections? Professor Carroll Quigley was President Clinton's mentor, and in Tragedy and Hope: A History of the World In our Time the professor revealed that William C. Whitney (S&B) and others, in the late 19th century, developed a plan to control both major political parties through financial contributions and have the two main parties alternate power so the public would think it had a choice.[7] Professor Quigley said Whitney's plan lasted about 16 years, and after that, the "Eastern Establishment" (power elite) moved the Democrat and Republican presidential candidates toward the political center:

1891: Cecil John Rhodes organized a secret society to take control of the world. His mentor at Oxford University was John Ruskin. Ruskin has a swastika engraved on his gravestone, just as Rhodes Trust member Rudyard Kipling has on the covers of his early books.[11] Prior to Adolph Hitler, the swastika, which reportedly also has been seen at the S&B vault at Yale University, was an elitist symbol. In an apparent contradiction, John Ruskin referred to himself as a Tory and a Communist. [12]However, one must realize that the elite have no qualms about working with both the political left and the political right, with an ultimate goal of synthesizing them into a world socialist government.

I hate both parties equally and I can rant about both of them. I don't want a biased professor spewing his hate speech and generalizations at me. I already spend a lot of money for college I don't need a class where my professor uses it as a platform to spit their rhetoric.

LOL....which flavor of vomit do YOU prefer? Red or Blue?

Does matter. Once you consume it, you will throw it up again. Like so many times before. And then repeat making a choice as to which vomit you prefer.

Watching my country and its politics is like watching Charlie Brown trying to kick the football.

Maybe next election, Charlie.

It played a large part of it... The massive shifting in funds into social programs has helped a lot as well. "Free phones" "free healthcare". The first black President.

To assume race had nothing to do with his elections is in fact lying to yourself.

It helps when the administration is willing to give them their own protection while paying for the sec change operations. If a person has that leaning then good on them. Why there should be separate laws and special considerations on health coverage makes no sense.

Typical left wing liberal thought process. see how that works? You do realize you are proving my point by trying to not prove it? You also just categorized all republicans as right wing idiots.

Yes and they blame everyone else for the poor ratings. Regardless of ratings they still defend the President and his piss poor policies and planning that its hard to watch anything on MSNBC. They are so willing to push his politics they don't seem to care how much damage is done to their network.

If they ever need a triggerman to get things started they can always give you or the professor a call eh?

yeah, maybe a bit dramatic.

But that is what it amounts to. "Kick the (insert party name) out!!!" is a battle cry heard about once every decade.

Since there is only 1 other option, you just return to the lover who betrayed you.

Actually I loved the Charlie Brown reference... My response was a bit sarcastic

Which is the problem is it not?

Why go back when we can fix it by finding someone new? the mindset that things will never change is exactly why things never change.

how about we do something good for a change?

I find this sort of thing happening all too often in the "Liberal Arts" courses at Universities. My "Honors Seminar" professor was a staunch femenist and very liberal, so she definitely hated my veteran status and conservative viewpoints made in the class.
