Regardless of how one believes about the Bundy affair, this will and has become a tipping point between the feds and state rights. And thank the people for that. The more people who stand for Bundy and the more media coverage, the better for 'we the people', men and women against an unjust law. Hopefully with revelations about Reid, more of our corrupt government will be exposed. Although I have not seen much MSM coverage I believe it will reach a point that they have no choice. Or more accurate, I hope they have no choice.I fully believe that it i sites like ATS that keep the story alive.

I agree, Cochise County AZ has a Sheriffs Dept, they took no part in these raids that BATFE conducted here on or about March 4th. Can the Fed overstep the local law enforcement jurisdiction; and if so how and why is this possible? Local law enforcement understands the county and state laws. So, when does Federal law step over state laws and for what reason? I would imagine theyd have a good warrent to search and seize if weapons were thought to have have been transported across state or Mexico lines. If they were looking for "Fast and Furious" artifact guns the innocent ranchers here paid a price for ATFs incompetence (I mean really?) those guns are long gone way into Mexico's interior; and what ATF did in allowing these fully automatic firearms to cross the border was entirely ILLEGAL in the first place.

We are a nation of laws, not of men and women.

That is a most curious statement. Allow me to counter that with one long run on sentence:

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

We are a nation of people that created the law to protect the people. When you have a person that establishes themselves to a higher position (or class) above others to the point they could in their best Stallone impersonation proclaim "I am the Law" then you have a problem. That problem is called Totalitarianism which is very much akin to the Tyranny that was fought against by a nation of men and women in the first place.

I think it is time for Harry to take the long walk.

AZ has it's own replication of dingey harry ried - that's the war-mongering john mccain.

And I personally hate the democratic party of theives -

We, Americans, really need to look at the life-long "representatives" in d.c. and see what exactly ALL of those theives are doing to our country.

We really need to become the united STATES of America again - and make ALL politics local - and disband all of these created federal buearacacies (spelling?) and "departments" headed by "czars".

I am thankful that people are finally waking up to the fact that the States hold all of the power.
Mr Bundy stated he would have no problem paying the true landlords grazing fees... the people of clark county.
So if little Mr Reid wants to put on his big boy pants and start a civil war in the south have at it.
He will loose

Im not sure; but I would imagine if Arizona County and State law representatives (police officers NOT THERE) were informed of these ATF raids in Cochise County were not hiding their snickers behind their hands (as in they know something the fed doesnt or is not anticipating; it is no secret that Arizona is #1 on a hit list for not being a march and step Cooperative State within the union; we are being blackmailed for federal funding). As for Bundy? if true owes ONE MILLION DOLLARS to Clark county, would never have leased BLM/State land to graze (cheaper at that point to place them in a feed lot environment; heck, grain them and sell them as prime beeves).

To all those questioning the quote, do you not recognise he is paraphrasing this?

“A government of laws, and not of men.”
John Adams

Since the BLM has soooo many armed thugs just waiting to shoot humans - why don't they go "patrol" the AZ/Mexican border and shoot a lot of people with guns - and illegal drugs - and polluters of the environment?

Guess that would interfere with their "north american union" plans under the NWO.

BLM agents, dont know what they wear as identifiers, maybe balloons attached to their shoulders? ATF would better have spent the $30,000 bucks raiding my property and put to better use patroling the AZ/Mexican border. Actually have the real opportunity of experiencing draw back gun fire (heck they have body armour and the really cool black ski masks) and would have faced an armed true enemy (not the lets go raid the namby pamby nice neighbor next door for absolutely no reason at all). Maybe even experience accidentally killing someone (a polluter). Seriously there were so many armed people in my house (at close quarters) I worried a firefight could have ensued if someone accidently discharched a weapon (each one had three firearms I counted 10x3 equals 30 guns in 1000 square feet of space CLEAR! CLEAR! OOPS). It might interfere with trade agreements; the shoot to kill policy (better one would be a shoot to maim only). Something at some point is justified for the taxpayers expense of it all.

It's funny that you complain about the Democrats and then bring up the Czars when it was the Republicans that started the "czars" in America.

Reid is right America is a nation of laws many politicians has said this over and over again all the way back to John Adams.

Dirty Harry would have served himself better to use the quote rather than paraphrase it, as you suggest he may have done. I think it's a pretty good bet he meant it as he said it. He's nowhere near as smart as John Adams was and the two do not mean the same.

From wiki:

"John Adams defined a constitutional republic as "a government of laws, and not of men."

"Constitutional republics are a deliberate attempt to diminish the perceived threat of majoritarianism, thereby protecting dissenting individuals and minority groups from the "tyranny of the majority" by placing checks on the power of the majority of the population.[2] The power of the majority of the people is checked by limiting that power to electing representatives who are required to legislate with limits of overarching constitutional law which a simple majority cannot modify."

Adams meant that laws were there to protect "dissenting individuals" not put a boot to their neck and grind them into the Earth.

Unreal.

I despise Harry Reid for this. Bundy should not be having this happen to him. Reid and BLM are thieves.

"Nation of laws" huh? What about abiding those same laws? Stealing land sounds like he's breaking the law...

Hypocrites.

Those politicians being "Men" . Harry Reid being a "man"

I personally think Dirty Harry's statement can be accurately interpreted to mean
"We are a nation of Government" thereby reducing the people to be servants
of Government. Therefore he reveals his stands in opposition to The Founders
intent in creating a Government by the people for the people.

I find it odd that every time a quote is used against the person saying it that in a few days a source for the paraphrasing appears to automagically make the person issuing the quote look spiffy on first glance. Yet with just the most basic inspection of why the original was stated, then the paraphrased quote that was originally pointed out is found to be just as corrupt as ever. Is there a source for these spin doctored counterpoints?

What I am saying so all the little spin doctors out there can try to become better at their craft is that there is a reason when people key in on something said sounding wrong. Generally it is because the context is out of whack. When Harry Reid, the most corrupt thing to come out of Los Vegas since the mob lost control of the casinos, says anything about laws (or even rules) it bears closer inspection. Frankly if I rolled five sixes on a set of dice and he said I had a Yahtzee, I would double check it to be sure.

I read the story too, and while still thinking really hard about this whole thing, I started reading the comments-when suddenly the voices in my head said...

"Good morning.

In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world, and you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. Mankind, that word should have new meaning for all of us today...

We can't be consumed by our petty differences any more. We will be united in our common interest. Perhaps it's fate that today is the 4th of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom. Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution, but from annihilation. We're fighting for our right to live, to existand should we win the day, the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice, 'We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on, we're going to survive.' Today we celebrate our independence day!"

and the other voice in my head said...

I see a whole army of my countrymen,
here in defiance of tyranny! You have come to fight as free men. And
free man you are! What will you do without freedom? Will you fight?"
"Two thousand against ten?" - the veteran shouted. "No! We will
run - and live!"
"Yes!" Wallace shouted back. "Fight and you may die. Run and you
will live at least awhile. And dying in your bed many years from now,
would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for
one chance, just one cahnce, to come back here as young men and tell
our enemies that they may take our lives but they will never take
our freedom!"

When Harry the Little Man called the folks at the ranch "domestic-terrorist wannabes" he wasn't speaking empty words. He knows full well the weight of the Patriot Act and the NDAA and he knows he has now called down the "hounds of hell" on every man, woman and child out there with his words. I hope that those folks band together and file a class action defamation lawsuit against his sorry behind. The first amendment does not include the right to defame others because they disagree with you and Harry the Little has crossed the line of political rhetoric on this issue. Men of his ilk have used the laws they have passed against anyone who disagrees with them for far too long now. I'm glad to see that there are still citizens who refuse to bow to the people who seek to be our Masters.
It's not enough just to fight this battle in Nevada, it needs to extend to every state where federal agencies are abusing citizens under "color of law" and to court systems rigged against individuals and in favor of government.
It can be done without bloodshed. Sending armed men to settle a civil matter is just ludicrous but the msm wants nothing to do with those cases. They seem unable to distinguish between civil and criminal court matters, as do the government thugs with guns who go about shooting people, pets and cattle with impunity. It must stop.

Latest observations from Ben Swann....

Published on Apr 23, 2014

Senator Harry Reid calls Bundy protestors domestic terrorists. But what act of terrorism did they commit? Meanwhile, the President's adviser on Homeland Security says that families and communities can recognize homegrown terrorism by looking out for a "confrontational child". Is that the definition of domestic terrorism, confrontation? Turns out, if you look at what happened in Nevada, the answer may be, yes.

Is Confronting Federal Power an Act of Domestic Terrorism?

It must be the "Thought" Police ?
