Blurry hazy memories of my life
The hopes and dreams of a little girl

But the image of motherhood shattered, like my reflection
Broken into a million pieces

My heart is pounding, but it isn't in my chest
I hid it away, a long time ago
In a dark forgotten corner where no one can harm it

I'm ready to find it

You wrote 8 lines and I felt at least 8 emotions as I read that.
That was raw and real. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it definitely triggered something in me. I like your writing, you've got your own style.

Thanks

I wrote this after getting news a woman never wants to hear. It's raw!

I know - well, I thought that's what I was reading. That's what it evoked in me, something raw - almost primal.
I hope you find it, sincerely, my friend.

We are all here for a reason, mine just doesn't involve kids. And I'm ok with that now.

Thanks for your kind words.

I'm browsing around reading some of the poetry that I missed from you ...
This one is good and full of emotion and a realization ..

I agree with you when you say we are all here for a reason and I feel everything happens for a reason... Even if it hurts. I feel pain makes us grow stronger.
Peace and love to you friend ~~>>

The English language lacks the words to mourn an absence, for someone who was never there at all, we are wordless to capture that particular emptiness.

Pain truly does make us stronger. I'm thankful I kept my journals from that time in my life, so I can look back and reflect and know that while those emotions will always be there, time really does help to heal wounds and grow as a person.

There's an old Welsh proverb that I keep close to my heart..
"For every wound, the ointment of time"

Plus, it could always be worse! Enjoy your day Nat!!
