America if you haven't noticed it by now you're wearing a blindfold. We need to remove from office both the democrats and republicans. There is no other option if we are to grow and prosper as a free nation once again.

The democrat and republican parties have proven themselves corrupted, self interested parasites pandering to the corporate lobbyists and with the recent SCOTUS ruling money = free speech we are truly screwed. The two party big government fiasco we now find ourselves buried under needs to be wiped clean and the only way that's going to happen is for both parties to lose.

For all you big-gov nanny state progressives I say, "grow a backbone" and start taking responsibility for yourselves and your families.

For all you big-war-machine neocons I say "back off" before someone like Putin puts a nuke on your house and ours too.

For all you big-gov rightwingers (who claim to want small government but lie) I say "quit sucking up to Wall Street and the rich, look at America because we're in trouble here."

For ATS I say "Vote Libertarian" and regain the freedoms we once had as a great country.

America's Heritage

Libertarians believe in the American heritage of liberty, enterprise, and personal responsibility. Libertarians recognize the responsibility we all share to preserve this precious heritage for our children and grandchildren.
Free and Independent

Libertarians believe that being free and independent is a great way to live. We want a system which encourages all people to choose what they want from life; that lets them live, love, work, play, and dream their own way.

Caring For People
The Libertarian way is a caring, people-centered approach to politics. We believe each individual is unique. We want a system which respects the individual and encourages us to discover the best within ourselves and develop our full potential.

Principled; Consistent
The Libertarian way is a logically consistent approach to politics based on the moral principle of self-ownership. Each individual has the right to control his or her own body, action, speech, and property. Government's only role is to help individuals defend themselves from force and fraud.

Tolerant
The Libertarian Party is for all who don't want to push other people around and don't want to be pushed around themselves. Live and let live is the Libertarian way.

Couldn't have said it better myself, "Live and let live." Might be your last chance America.

How is voting another party going to help? Did you even see what they did to Ron Paul this last election? They wouldn't even let him in on the debates or ticket. They can't have that cause he might of won, then where would we be with Russia and the Ukraine right now? probably a lot better off I think.

Let's get rid of the cancer first before we try to put some healthy cells into the mix.

What I mean by that is we have to address the Corporations are people thing and the lobbyists and government think tanks!

I have lost faith in our voting system. Everyone is playing a mad recycling game by voting for plastic(democrats) and then all of a sudden we have plastic just littering the country side, so when the next election we vote in glass(republicans). Meanwhile, we think we are making headway cleaning up all of the plastic, while the glass starts building up???

Sorry, just felt like getting a little creative there. But anyhow, the voting public is locked into a mad experiment where no matter what, their cognitive dissonance will not allow them to exit the insane cycle of voting that is proving to be the end of our Republic!

I agree with your thoughts!

I just don't see people getting it though....

LIBERTARIAN

Just checking, by taking their short quiz. And yep. That's me. There are a lot of other issues not addressed in that quiz though that might not make that so cut and dry. Abortion, off shore labor, religion, lobbyists, gold-backed money, to name just a few. But generally, Libertarians tend to prefer strict constitutional viewpoints. Too bad our government doesn't.

I feel that libertarian is rather anarchic and loosely defined. Everything affects everything and even much like the free speech zones being implemented today what will the ideal libertarian state contain?

Personal space zones? Wouldn't this exact description of a solution infuriate a "true libertarian?" To do what one considers to be true to oneself may be offensive and/or dangerous to public and others on a physical level, thus property will be tied in and you will be allowed to do what you will on your property, but such physical bounds as property limits will not be enough to satisfy persons with certain fancies. The state will fail to protect its ideals.

So, unless one can produce and live off one's own plot of land and in every single citizens' specific case other zones will have to be traversed where live and let live may become something like a "public personal zone". Not everyone lives in the mid-west lucky to lots of space we have lots of people in city centers. How would a libertarian state even function in high population areas?

I may sound like a supporter of a nanny state here, but these are what I feel to be contradictions in the libertarian ideal when you apply it to something as real as people and government.

With what I as a Canadian have witnessed in US politics you could tare up that petition to send Biber back to Canada and elect him .There is no way he could do worse then either the Rep's or Dem's .

Yes it is and that's a good thing. Anyone who looks can see the citizens of this country are bound up in a web of ridiculous regulations and laws.

Ideally if what I'm doing or you're doing doesn't cause others any trouble then it's OK. I think we could use a little loosening of the noose from around our throats.

I would tend to agree with the exception of Rand Paul.

I will stand with Rand in the upcoming Presidential primaries/elections. He is essentially a Libertarian but has a better chance of winning since he is part of the 2-headed 1-Party system.

People will argue that hes a typical establishment Republican who "betrayed his dad" but in order to get ahead, you have to make nice with TPTB.

However, the Adelson neocons hate him because he doesnt want to nuke every continent so its not going to be easy.

And heres the new brain child by the good people over at the Democratic Underground: pose as a Libertarian, denounce the Republicans and split the vote ensuring a Democratic win.

If we're to get Rand into the White House, we're gonna have to unite.

Yes, valid point.

But at some point we need to put people into the office we elect that are willing to take that step.

Which requires voting someone into to do, the Libs are a better option than the Current prevalent two parties of choice.

WE much clean house first, gutting the senate of the Incumbent crooks before we can even make those steps needed.

I get what you're saying on the voting system being messed up. I guess my hope here is that at least we make a last attempt at freeing ourselves from the known evils of the democrats and republicans. Hopefully before people get so upset they just burn everything down.

My friend, I have voted Independent and Libertarian ONLY the past 3 to 4 elections.

I get home, and like those whom buy lottery tickets that hope for a life of luxury, I watch the poll results come in and damn near everyone is voting either Democrat OR Republican.......

I like that your pissing the two party "BELIEVERS" off, but I just don't see em changing their religion.....

I see those whom believe in the D/R church of hypocrisy, kinda like police look at couples whom love to fight each other.

The police show up, arrest one or the other, PFA's are taken out and the cycle happens over and over!

YET??????

They always get back together because they "LOVE EACH OTHER"!!!!!

Sums it up in a nutshell if you ask me!!!

I have a few points to make on this.. Im not on a pc so my spelling sucks and my research is worse...
anway.. i want to bring to your attn ron paul, do you guys really think he didnt have the people to back him in the elections if you say no then you are deluding yourselves..

i watched the 08 elections intently.. realized he was getting screwed... fox going as far as to ask ron paul "are you electable" then i watched in 12 with the game being played again.. but this time some guy named ben swann started showing what i suspected all along... the people get screwed no matter who we voted for...

not only that north carolina recently said the lib party isnt even a real party...

anyway he who voted decides nothing.... he who counts the votes decides everything..

i will add more later when i get off work.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could vote for an individual whom we felt represented us and our own personal values?

Wouldn't it be nice to vote for a PERSON without having a label (Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, even Independent) attached to them?

Wouldn't it be lovely?

Sometimes I think maybe we need a dictator in this country. At least then things would get accomplished. Good or bad.

Sorry for the pessimism...I'm just fed up with the options in this country.

Yes, Libertarian's I believe are an advocate of the doctrine of free will and a person who upholds the principles of individual liberty especially of thought and action.

I'm a Naturalized Citizen, Chinese American Libertarian and Proud of It!

My husband and I both believe a Libertarian is anyone who supports civil liberties to a greater than average degree.
Also anyone who believes in a minimal, decentralized government. That a true Libertarian is a person who believes that the only legitimate purpose of a government is to protect the rights of its citizens.

But maybe we're just Old Fashion in our way of thinking or Not, You Tell Me!

I can strongly agree with this. However from my personal experience at least here's something I take like bitter medicine. There are those who can't truly be happy without treading on, dominating or commanding others'. The ideal liberal state will fail to accommodate this type of individual. I'm not speaking of lewd fancies either. From my experience, it's just as though some personal auras are much more demanding of attention or response from others'.

The people I speak of might only be comfortable as kings. Dark, but evident in many peoples' nature.

Maybe we are old fashioned but who cares. At least we're in our right minds as opposed to those who doggedly follow the two party criminal political system that has sold us all down the river.

We better watch out or Harry Reid is going to start calling us domestic terrorists too.

Which illustrates the point. Reid is a certifiable lunatic. Along with so many others like McCain, Feinstein, McConnell, Graham, Menendez... the list of D and R dirtbags is almost too long to post.

Time to throw out the bathwater and everything left in it. Then refill the tub.
