It has been reported that Canada will send 6 fighter aircraft to Poland as part of the Nato Buildup of forces in or near the troubled Ukraine.....
Further troops will be sent to Nato headquarters as they are beefing up the headquarters staff in light of the crisis....
Comeon People now.....they are preparing to go all out as soon as assets can be sufficiently assembled.....
Here comes the long awaited "population reduction" we all hear about....
Cant the people stop this madness?

I don't believe this WAR scenario, times have changed, people don't just blindly follow their country anymore, people got smart and started to ask questions. Back in the ol' days people felt a sense of pride for their country and where willing to protect it at all costs.

IF Canada or any country for that matter decides to send troops it will be heavily protested by its civilians. No one care's they have bill's to pay, no time to play someone else's war.

A source would be nice.

www.ctvnews.ca...

In a few weeks, when this blows over without WWIII starting, people will be disappointed yet again.

While this is a fragile situation and fists are clenched on all sides, claiming that this is the beginning of a population reduction is a hugely wild claim.

especcially as The Guardian are currently reporting this little bit of news

US, Russia, Ukraine & EU reach agreement at the Geneva talks to end the violence

calm down

The Canadians are sending troops to Nato exercises in the Ukraine within 3 months.....
The assets are being deployed and the buildup will continue however the pace is dictated by agitation of covert agents within the countries involved.....theres a lot of POWERFUL EMOTIONS wound up in this mix and there may be no way to sit on it as the big boys want to.....
The chances may be slim for nuclear war...but thinning out the population of Europe may be a result.....Even conventional weapons wrteak havoc in heavily populated areas....
All through the crisis Harper has taken an extremely bellicose stance agitating for accelerated RESPONSE......
Perhaps 6 fighters may not be much yet....but piece by piece the weapons are being put in place...when there are sufficient forces in the arena....well.....the inevitable usually happens....

Who is going to go all out? With what? NATO would need massive deployments to invade Russia and vice versa. NATOs easten deployment strategy is cleary to make sure NATO has air superiority thus negating any chance of a Russian advance. These would defensive deployments. Now if NATO was moving a few Armor divisions and attack helicopters that would have the makings of an offensive force.

Why is Canada getting involved? Who takes one bit of notice of Canada?

And no-one fears Canada or their military....it is ridiculous that Canada rely so heavily on protection by the US!!
Without the US backing Canada would find it hard to do almost anything on the world stage. A big joke!!

Canada, stay the hell out of things you have NO business in. NOT that any other country has business over there at all. BUT Canada? what a joke!

Canada should send a few of their ancient Sea King helicopters and let them fall on the Russians and tow their used British scrap submarines and burn them in Polish harbors.
Maybe even send our Army's gun.

Don't be so ignorant. Canada has a proud military history, simply because you're not aware of it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Many thousand Canadians have died in wartime, and many thousands more injured. In my province, an entire generation of young men was essentially wiped out in a single battle, The Somme in WWI. In my hometown, two young men have lost their lives serving in Afghanistan.

Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen announced Wednesday that NATO will deploy additional resources to former Eastern Bloc countries, including jets and warships.

Rasmussen announced that the United States, Britain, Denmark, Poland, Portugal and Germany had all agreed to send fighter jets for air patrols over the region.

From Zaphod's link up there.

Isn't anyone else fed up that they play show of forces with OUR money?

Damn right. OUR money. If we are the ones paying for this # (purposely avoided censored rough word), shouldn't we get a say in war (or "trying to avoid or need to protect those poor other countries) games?

Oh. That's right, we voted these clowns in. And we give them a blank check to do whatever the hell they want with the money we give them out of OUR sweat, every time.

Sick and tired of political Overlords that think they own the world with other people's sweat and guts. Is all.

Hey, Harper, Putin, Obama and other narcissistic maniacs...

The US aircraft are already there. They've been training with the Polish Air Force for years, completely unrelated to this. So have the RAF, I believe. I know at least one European country has sent planes to train with them.

Canada is in NATO. Poland is in NATO. When one NATO members is attacked it is an attack on all NATO members. If a NATO member feels threatened they can ask for back up. And anybody that has been in the US Army at least can attest that Canadian troops are some of the finest on earth. So to some up the things you were wrong about: It is Canadas buisiness as it all 28 members of NATO. And Second Canadas military is not a joke. You are welcome for this bit of education free of charge.

Because they're rotating the unit that has been there out. They always rotate the new unit in a few weeks ahead of the one that's leaving. That give them time to get familiar with the area, and do a hand off with the outgoing unit.

Thanks for the Arrow link.....and we burned Washington once too......sorry bout that.....
Point is that Ole harpie is obviously being manipulated into playing a heavy in this scene......
Who do ya think might be pulling his strings?
Hes been bullying everyone into action like he owns hundreds of CF 18s instead of 30 or so......if that...
The posturing and the bullcrap is getting thicker as the units both sea air and land slowly mobilise.....
Civil war in Ukraine is all it will take....
