F-35 to make UK air show debut this year

farnborough is a great air show i attended (behind the ropes) as my dad was involved in the shows.

I have fond memories of things like walking through the galaxy class freight planes (the ones they fit like 4 tanks in) and just being blown away by the epic scale, its well and good to know stats on planes but till you sit in one, you realise just how epic some of them are. Even "little" jets like the F-35 once you get to touch the side of one or sit in it, you just cant really quite understand how huge and powerful they are in reality!

...and when they a low fly by, or some helicopters roar over head - just stunning (and bloody loud!!!!)

How anything that big flies, I'll never know. It's just wrong.... I thought the same thing the first time I got on a 747.

Something that big shouldn't be able to fly.

They're still waiting for clearance. LM has hinted they will still try for Farnborough if they can't make both.

It was originally designed to transport the Buran, or the external fuel tank for the Buran.

As we have wondered off topic a little, a hear rumours of a b2 was meant to be on it's way to fairford on exercise again? Anyone shed any light on this?

Well no f 35 for fairford gutted I couldn't see it, either way though first air show in ages I'll make sure I'll enjoy it
