This sounds pretty bad!

Many youngsters on board heading to JEJU Island for a 4 day trip! One passenger says they heard a loud bang before the Ferry begin to subside and sink..

But I reckon he wants to blame NK for this already.

I had a vision a couple days ago or thoughts anyway that a ship was going to go down somewhere... I should have posted about it but as usual I forgot. i was thinking that its been 100 years more or less since the sinking of the Titanic and that if things were to repeat themselves, then a ship sinking now with many on board would be a good start for that Theology (not sure if this is the right word). You know what began 28th July 1914? 2 years after the Titanic sunk?

A snippet from the News Article:

Almost 300 people remain unaccounted for after a ferry sank off the coast of South Korea.

Two people have been confirmed dead so far, including a teenager.

The South Korean Coastguard says 180 people have been rescued and 295 remain unaccounted for.

The ferry, with 477 people and 150 vehicles on board, was sailing to the southern island of Jeju when it sent a distress call at 9am local time (1am UK time) on Wednesday morning as it began listing to one side.

The pictures I have seen on the Daily Mail site show the mainland in the background. They weren't that many miles out so it probably hit rocks in the fog . Why they weren't on charts or showing on echo sounding equipment I don't know .

No way can that many people be lost

What? Really?

Something's really odd here

It's bad. Dominating the local news. My wife's in tears.

Crowds and crowds of people at the docks. It's shocking. Now that night has fallen the reality is hitting pretty hard and the nation will be in mourning tomorrow.

ETA: These were predominately 11th grade students. The water is too cold and the currents are too strong. They had almost 200 rescue divers on-site ... and even they've given up.

Given up?

Already?

From what I saw, the ship wasn't that far out to Sea! If those children could swim, I wonder if they had enough time to get out of any windows (They were on the first floor apparently) which I guess is why many have struggled to get out...

Do the Authorities believe that those hundreds missing, are dead then?

Yeah. They had only found four bodies when the evening news came on. It's been about 12 hours. Too cold to last.

From what I understand the water temp in that area is in the 40's Fahrenheit.

Generally, a person can survive in 41-degree F water for 10, 15 or 20 minutes before the muscles get weak, you lose coordination and strength, which happens because the blood moves away from the extremities and toward the center, or core, of the body.

Not looking good for survivors who hit the water at this point.

Terrible tragedy.

Maybe I just insensitive for seeing many people die news everyday ,thus try to use a new angle to view it.

Take your insensitivity elsewhere.
