I'd be very watchful this weekend... here's why

Maybe I have been hanging out on ATS too long... but I have a bad feeling about this weekend. First, we had the fed's failure to intimidate at the Bundy ranch this past weekend. Patriots stood up, feds back down. That was a slap to the face of TPTB. Tensions are quite high in this country at the moment, especially in the Patriot movement... the MSM was incredibly quiet about the whole affair today. Too quiet, if you ask me. Next, looking at this weekend... April 18,19,20. All three of these dates can be tied in with the Patriot movement (April 18: Paul Revere's ride in 1775 April 19: Waco/OK City April 20: United Nations, Columbine) whether or not those dates have any real meaning or not. Finally, this is Easter weekend... what better way to rile up a predominantly Christian nation, than to cause mass mayhem on Easter?

If we start seeing news stories in the MSM prior to this weekend tying the Patriot movement with these dates, I would be very concerned. That would be "preconditioning"... get it fresh in the people's minds. Think about it... What better way to turn the tide of public opinion, than to create a disaster this weekend that can be blamed on a now emboldened Patriot movement...

Well emotions are running high due to the eclipse.

I bet a lot of people are getting fired and theres NO WAY that the government is just going to back down because they will lose control.

Dont listen to the naysayers, you never know what synchronicity your onto. Sometimes maybe you misunderstand it who knows.

I am in no way a "doom pornographer", but history does tend to repeat itself... and a lot of folks are genuinely afraid of their government as well...

It doesn't even have to be anything really huge... just something they can blame on the militias and milk the propaganda...

Consider an eclipse in this way.

It does not directly manifest events but it can, give them energy in a way.

How about this, maybe it represents a moment of novelty in which we can act or not act, but with every action(non action) = and opposite reaction.

I think it is a far sadder commentary that we have begun to think the way we do... so distrustful of our government that we have to scrutinize every action of theirs to the extent that we do... doesn't sound like the America I grew up in.

No, this is the same feeling I have. And if you look at Ukraine, someone is obviously trying to stir up trouble there in order to start a world war. The Ukraine protests and the ones on the Bundy ranch are happening at the same time. In Ukraine, the military has started "anti-terrorist" operations against the protesters there.

This could mark the first time that protesters, citizens of our country, are seen as terrorists and there could be a mass arrest or mass murder without any constitutional boundaries on it in our country.

After that, Russia might move into Ukraine if the same thing happens there. I think there is a possibility of this, as a matter of fact, I think that is the normal course of things - if it doesn't happen, then someone is just trying to stall, but it seems like it is going to escalate eventually.

We need to scrutinize our culture. In the word the great Terrence Mckenna, culture is our operating system.

Sooner or later the pot has to boil over, the heat is turned up way too high. I'm sure I'm only thinking about half the stuff that's happening now but things have escalated all over in the last few months.

Sadly enough mac..I also am old enough to remember what it was like to grow up in at least the well manicured coccoon of there being a free country.
Now nobody in the govt is even trying to hide the lawlessness. No fear of prosecution...

I read this all the time on here. War may break out. There are a gazillion wars taking place right now. Russia may invade. Bingo. They just did in southern Ukraine. The west barely blinked.

I've heard it again and again. One thing that is missing is the prediction of a grand celestial disaster prediction from outer space. I haven't heard one of those in a while. Eventually someone will get a big disaster right. Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.

Note: Ignore my 2 million stars. I am not some deity. It is some kind of statistical glitch. I suddenly started seeing millions of stars overnight not that long ago. I thought maybe I won the 2 million star lottery but I noticed some of the older members here had the same glitch. On the other hand who knows? I could have been promoted to demi-god status and the member with 30 million stars may be a deity. There are more important things to worry about right?

I too get a feeling that something is escalating, but as was mentioned, maybe just too much time on ATS

Let's look at it anyway! Right now we have:

- one civil war going on in Syria,
- one possible civil war brewing in Ukraine, and
- then the protests on the Bundy ranch which "could" lead to more aggression.

For me, the trigger for concern is a serious escalation of tension and bloodshed in the states.

I expect that if there's a SHTF social unrest/civil war scenario, the first place that will really get my attention and get me worried is if it happens in the states; this is but of course my humble opinion.

Maybe we just need more and less .

Whaaaaat? Emotions are running high because of the eclipse? Why?
It was such a spectacular show? Why are lots of people being fired? Do you have anything at all to support these silly claims? Did you get fired? If so are you blaming the eclipse?
