He has the pull in around his home for sure, perhaps a little less federally after his controversies over the years.

He also has the family put in place to assist him, and he looks after them financially as well..

Sounds like any other politician to me though.

At least he's pushing for green energy and not coal or the like.

Yeah....Solyndra worked out so well...didn't it.

Excerpt from link...
Since 2009, Department of Energy has guaranteed $34.7 billion in loans, 46 percent through the 1705 loan program, 30 percent through the 1703 program, and 14 percent through the Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing loan program.

The 1705 program (under which Solyndra received funding) deserves particular attention. This program is a product of the economic stimulus bill of 2009. The data shows that:

26 projects were funded under the 1705, and guaranteed roughly $16 billion in total.
Some 2,378 permanent jobs were claimed to be created under the program. This works out to a potential cost per job of $6.7 million.
The recipient of the most 1705 loans is NRG Energy Inc.
www.usnews.com...

You should make yourself familiar with Harry Reid's involvement with NRE Energy and his so called green movement.

Underneath Senator Harry Reid’s Clean-Energy Dirt: Career politician directly linked to over $3 billion in green energy stimulus loans

The OP is attempting to present a clear connect the dots picture for you. Open your eyes...it will make you appear more intelligent.

No, searchlight is almost 60 miles south of las vagas and the map that AlphaHawk posted only shows the upper half of vegas and none of the maps posted by xuenchen mark the position of searchlight

Do you think Harry would *really really really* be all in favor of solar and wind if Nevada had vast coal reserves?

He could care less about the environment and even less about anybody without money thinks.

He is making it more confusing.

Here's the facts:

Searchlight is south or Las Vegas.

Mesquite is north of Vegas.

How can the two be near each other when there's a whole city in the middle?

Gold Butte is near Mesquite right? That's the area Bundy's cattle are grazing, the area in dispute, they're not wandering all,the way past/ through Las Vegas now are they?

Bundy himself says the solar plans are just rumours and that the BLM are doing what they're doing to make Gold Butte a conservation site.

Google gold butte ACEC to read more about the area, it's an area of critical environmental concern.

For some reason, Xechuen (and you?) seem to think gold butte is going to cleared for solar development. Look at the map he posted..

This one

Look in the gold butte area, there no projects in the area, so why is he saying there is?

Have I made myself clear now?

Once again, you are stuck on a map. Please try to catch up with the topic of this thread.

You know what!

Your passive aggressive style of writing really bothers me.

Why don't you read what I'm trying to say in this thread?

Put aside Reid, and look at the claims some are making about the shenanigans at gold butte.

Telling me to open my eyes, they're open, I'm seeing what's actually going on without being distracted by the Reid shenanigans.

Like I said, they're unrelated.

And I've shown as much here, and you question my intelligence?

Disprove what I'm saying if you must, prove me wrong.

That map shows no projects in the Gold Butte area!

Yet you're saying it's an area ripe for it.

You seem to be purposely overlooking the fact that all of these
areas have one thing in common, and that is the BLM!

And ...Harry Reid got his handpicked man in there even though
he was sorely qualified. The same man who served on Reids staff.

This is how it is connected, even if the square inches do not add
up to you, the BLM is still over all of it, and Harry is at the helm.

The BLM was already bad, but now Harry has them in his pocket.

BLM has already operated for years bordering illegal shutdown
of public comment, especially where these Solar deals are
approved. Why is that?

BLM Clamps Down on Public Comment at Renewable Energy Meetings
www.kcet.org...

There are enough connections,
there should be a full on investigation, for crying out
loud even the Washington Times is calling for it.
www.washingtontimes.com...

How about you answer a few of these questions?

Who ordered the initial raid just days after Harry's cronie is in office?

Why did Clark County sell land to ENN at far below its fair value?

Who ordered the BLM show of force?

Well...excuse me for not writing in a style that meets your approval....

You are the one attempting to derail this thread, not me. I have read all your posts harping on a map. I'm not impressed with your lack of any other input on the topic of this thread.

The fact of the matter is...Harry Reid is attempting to build a personal empire, at the expense of many little people, he doesn't give a crap about.

Bundy Bunkerville and Harry Searchlight are both in Clark County.

about 100 miles straight line.

driving 140 miles.

this long url might work..... driving directions " Searchlight, NV to Bunkerville, NV "

map

And the official BLM government reports clearly refer to Gold Butte area as a target with a big fat bullseye on it.

and more references for clarity :

Gold Butte is named after an old ghost town called Gold Butte, NV

The OP started off with a map and keeps refering to maps, so what is wrong with pointing out that they are reading those maps incorrectly?

I see the links between the two and I agree, it's suspect.

But gold butte is off limits..

www.pewenvironment.org...
www.govtrack.us...
www.friendsofgoldbutte.org...

Perhaps Reid's move to conserve this area is to appease the talking heads on what he plans to do to other areas?

Yes the map in the OP that shows that searchlight is nowhere near Bundy ranch.

The big fat target placed on Gold Butte is for increased enforcment of environmental protection. You have not shown anything that proves otherwise.

The BLM has shown the proof in the pudding.

If Gold Butte had nothing to do with Dry Lake, they would not have spent millions on the meetings and workshops and seminars that focused on Gold Butte.

Nor would they have spent big money on the mitigation report.

The companies connected with the Searchlight project are chomping for more.

Harry will "accommodate" as usual.

This thread is the third in a continuing effort by the OP to try and link the Chinese, Reid and Bundy ranch together.

She's dug up dirt on Reid, great, there was plenty of that already, but the link to Bundy ranch/gold butte is non existent.

And if you noticed, she is discussing locations of proposed solar plants, and I'm trying to point out specific locations, a map comes in handy for such an endeavour.

that is about the Desert Tortoise?

Perhaps Reid's move to conserve this area is to appease the talking heads on what he plans to do to other areas?

That is exactly what the BLM report says on page 4.

The mitigation actions identified in this strategy are designed to compensate for the loss of some of the habitat, visual resources, and ecological services that are expected from the development of the Dry Lake SEZ.

Please don't tell me you think he's gonna build a solar plant on a place he just had a bill passed to conserve??

Re-read what I said, which is confirmed by daskik AND the BLM report.

You're all hung up on gold butte because of Bundy, and you've gotten it so wrong.
