Thats because the armed take over in the east is backed by Russian agents and Spetsnaz, these gangs didn't just have the Russian issues kit laying around in there wardrobes.. they have been armed and are being guided by Moscow directly, the UN can see it, NATO can see it the only people who don't or rather admit it is Russia

When the Ukrainians in the east have come out onto the streets in protest they have been attacked and hospitalized, yet Russia keeps warning any action against these armed violent gangs will result in action

you Russian lovers kill me, if your from Russia your Nationalistic (great) if your not and never been then you have no idea what Russia is or how miserable of a place it is. I was forced to go for work 7 times last year, at first I was excited thrilled even, then I arrived and realization slapped me in the face, I was detained because I had medicine they did not like that was prescribed to me in the bottle with the prescription (for migraines). They held me for over an hour google'ng what it was...then they took it from means told me to see a local doctor. (WTF)...the rest of the trip was ok, the Kremlin was cool but the atmosphere of the people was cold and on many occasion my co-worker (Russian) was shaken down for money from the police...Russia is a very in your face corrupt place and the legal system is a complete joke.

I am a middle-eastern American mix and all I can say is God Bless whats left of the USA...!

Well your opinion is just that yours, my screen name is accurate so when I tell you that if American's are killed on its home soil as with 9/11 the will to take our Russia will be there. We know by now that both sides invested vast amounts of money and intelligence to prep their respective proxies.

The conservative estimate is that at least 79 people have been killed and more than 570 injured in the maidan-protests. At least 13 officers died, 130 injured by gunshot wounds.
How exactly the protests escalated still remains to be investigated, but there is already evidence that not all happened like western MSM reported.

As "the2ofusr1" already stated, recent investigations suggest that sniper-fire on Maidan came from agent provocateurs, from the windows of Hotel Ukraina (exactly from where the oppsition resigned at the time).

Go research some of the crucial elements that actively destabilized the situation in Ukraine in the first place.
Look up the UNA-UNSO, the paramilitary arm of Prawyj Sektor, who are linked to NATO's GLADIO (according to US and BND intelligence). A covert NATO operation, working in Ukraine since far before Maidan.

Yes, there are elections coming up... only that should have happened before our bureaucrats even recognised the new government in Kiev, against the Ukrainian constitution.

Agree that Russia is corrupt and somewhat lawless. However, be ready to face more airport harassment in the US and west. Such factors do not make any country Stalinist or North Korea like. They are just doing their jobs to make sure that rest of the visit goes in atleast half way pleasant manner.

Small disagreement..........If US creates a guerrilla war type scenario against Russia in Ukraine.........then Russia can create much more problems for US in places like Afghanistan and so much so that many times more troops would need to be committed to Afghan theatre by the US/NATO.

Below article says it costs $2.1M a year per US soldier deployed in Afghanistan. Means 1K soldiers cost $2B and 100K would cost $2000B or $2 Trillion.........AND THAT IS EACH SINGLE YEAR !!!!!!
