first Nicholas Poussin had nothing to do with the Templars as i recall. almost
200 years between them i think. Templars disolved 1312, Poussin B. 1594
next as i recall the sculpture at Shugbourogh is not by Poussin, it is a mirror image Bas-relief of a Poussin Painting ( the shepards of Arcadia).
The inscription at the bottom to my nowledge has never been deciphered. it is not a word but more akin to an abreviation of some sort. I dont recall
Poussin being link to the Priory as a member but could be wrong.
